Hall of Grandmasters map. The uncompletable map

You need block reduction gem and frost bomb. Frost bomb cuts regeneration by 75% and is absolutely vital for Dyness and other mega-ES-regen tanks. Block reduction is the only way you'll deal with the aegis tanks. Of course, you also need your own DPS and tons of survival yourself. I solo'd it in perandus with a BV CI pathfinder, but CI vaal pact builds are dead now, so...yeah.

Odds are, it's still very much doable with a raider or a pathfinder concentrating on maximizing dodge with high amounts of DPS.
Make a Beartrapper, and laught about this map. (beartrap ignores Spellblock/dodgr and holds them into place, making them unable to move/teleport.) Also you can trow them under them bevore they unfreeze, making the damage absolut unavoidable for them.

The thing that most infuriates me about Hall of the Grandmasters is that it's flagged as a Tier 9. I'm ok with it being borderline impossible for 99.99% of all builds, but at least tag it as difficult.... calling it a Tier 9 is just troll. Almost every character I've ever played can clear Vaal Temple or all 4 Guardians with much greater ease then Hall of the Grandmasters - if you are going to make it so obscenely difficult, at least give it the T16 designation it deserves. Alternatively, nerf it to actually be in line with a T9 map, I honestly don't care which, just be upfront and honest about whatever difficulty you set it at.

Tiers have never signified difficulty, only monster level (and consequently item level).

Although I suppose they have "moved in that direction" more since Orchard with Tunneltrap used to be T1, then players complained, now sweet gentle Tunneltrap is a T7 boss and Orchard itself is T8 or T9, I forget which.

I might be remembering wrong how Unique Map drops work, but if HoG turned into T16 I would be majorly annoyed because then it would be extra hard to drop it when Mapping casually as far as I can remember.

Yea it's a bit of a noob trap with that tier indicator. Player who runs it the first time will get absolutely demolished. But then again, many things in PoE is fatal trial and error learning.

Lol you are right. I did watch videos before (always do when I'm doing things for first time) and I knew I was getting into something that I wouldn't probably be able to complete but I gave it a try with my laugh build max block gladiator. I had to change to my selfcast flameblast character for the regen block one but disconnects before that, a couple of deaths and that witch died on the end of the room because she can't handle much movement (fb is not a pvp buil after all) So I am ok with that, I knew what I was getting into, I just thought that a couple of grandmasters are too op compared to the rest which are too trivial.

About the level, it is a unique map. Unique map don't follow any level rules, they have unique mechanics. For example Porjoy's Asylum is lvl 9 I think but the mobs are much harder than any lvl9 map. The unique crypt one, the boss and the ethereal weapons are harder than 9 too. So when you are doing unique maps you need to consider that the tier is just a number there, it doesn't say anything about the difficulty of the map.

Now some say the loot is not that bad as I thought and I have the compulsion to try and complete everything so I will keep trying but taking in consideration your advice.
There are few builds right now that can do every content in the game and I am not complaining about that, I think every build should have it's nemesis but I think that boss fights for example should be doablo by all builds maybe some much harder than others but still be able to do it in a degree.
Ignite builds are cool but status immune are their nemesis, still it is doable.
Now puting CI bosses just denies a lot of cool "new" builds around.
Thnkfully they are fixing some of this boss issues with certain builds in 3.0.
Just wanna reiterate that the loot is 'sporadic'
Sometimes you finish a map and don't get much anything.
Sometimes you get lots of cards and good boxes.

The cards can drop from anything ofc, seen couple drop from even the first wave of enemies, feelsgoodman. If you get accustomed to running Grandmasters it is a great place for early league starter value, very unpopular thus cheap to buy, the cards sell for a ton in early league because you can basically gain Atziri's Disfavour from the Grandmasters before there are many if any Uber farmers out there.

The cards sell individually fast and for good money, or then stack them up and get your own axe.
That's cool and ofc it's all rng and luck but still there's the chance. I just need a build to properly do the map and get used to it, like everything in poe. Thank you all for all your tips on this guys.
