what was suggested:

- the introduction of vertical tab headers
- vertical headers are subtabs of the current active horizontal header
- tabs can be freely drag'n dropped between horizontal and vertical headers

This is great! I'm gonna call Sony and explain how I should be upgraded to a new flatscreen from my old box with a built in VCR because I actually at one time gave them my money. Thanks!!!

1) +1 to OP. would probably consider buying some of these 4x1->1x4 upgrades if they existed.

2) as for technical limitations.... i don't think it would be so much of an issue with "new" tabs but I think consolidating all our old "remove only" tabs from previous leagues might be a little tricky.

but who knows? maybe we could get auto-compact out of the bargain, cuz it seems like such an algo might be developed as part of that consolidation process. :P

3) to the poster above me: i don't think anyone was asking for anything for free. in fact, specifically, a lot of ppl are saying they would pay for this. thanks for playing, though.

this is not a physical good

this is more like if you had 5Mgb/s internet plan called "Super Fast" with a company for years and now they they have changed their brackets and "Super fast" plan is 20mgb/s at the same price and when you ask to upgrade your plan to the updated version, they dont want

this sound like it doesnt make sense..

so is not being able to upgrade multiple tabs into quad

GGG said it cannot be done for technical limitations, Desync was not fixable due to technical difficulties too...

and of course i understand that checking if tabs are empty all at once and etc might be tricky

If they can have this in the Mtx tab and make them apply to your stash, why couldnt it work the opposite way

they can have "remove only" tabs removed afterall

Why couldnt they have you to "Reclaim" empty Premium tabs and when you have enough of them in your mtx tab you can upgrade?

Also, being able to reclaim Active tabs could be a great way to manage how many tabs you got and want

I keep seeing people saying it's a technical thing, it's not, it's logistical(read the post by chris), they can technically do it but the method means they need to do it manually(and don't start with the bull that it can be done automatically...it can't or they would be selling it already) and with the amount of tabs people have coupled with huge fucking support queues they would be very slow in shifting to the quad tabs...slow enough that it would be unacceptable...especially at the end of one league and start of a new one where people will buy tabs, getting delayed even more by the usual queue support gets (i'm sure you wouldn't wait a week + for one)

Look on the bright side, if you buy one, it's going to be empty...no remove only conversion which has pissed a lot of people off before

I don't see the big issue. All they need to do is somehow merge 4 existing tabs into 1 big fat one. That means it doesn't matter what items are in/if they are empty in different leagues etc, as they just get merged and whatever is in the corresponding spot is placed in the same place in that tabs corresponding quadrant in the quad tab.

I refuse to believe that is impossible to code. I just refuse. It has to be at some level just a transfer of data and an algorithm to carry it out.

Not impossible, but if you aren't a (database) programmer for a hack-secure multiplayer game, you probably don't have a sense of the cost-benefit analysis of the new feature. GGG on the other hand does, and it looks like they're either working on it under the hood like they were with Lockstep or they have judged that other database issues are more urgent than quad tab merge codes.

But i know GGG and i have a good intuition.

Even if it takes improvements to their underlying system, then so be it. Game programming needs to be slave to player experience, and not the other way around(within the limitations of programming). Following a strictly cost/revenue based thinking doesn't lead to the greatest works of art. Some things are worth spending on, and often have synergistic benefits to the whole which influences income in a way that cannot be measured.

I just wanted to buy plenty of quads or better: upgrade my existing +30 ones, just to find out it's not possible....

I won't spend a dime until this is possible. I can't shake off the feeling of being punished for having bought the regular premium ones....

Or is it possible now and I have just not seen where/how it's done?

I'm with you on this one. I have 10 regular premium tabs and i don't want to surpass that number. (as they are super convenient at 1 click away distance without unnecessary dropdown menus).

If they implemented the upgrade of 4 Premium Tabs to a Quad Tab then i would further purchase 3 more tabs (adding a Currency Tab and 2 more Quad Tabs), having a total of: 6 premium tabs, 3 quad tabs and 1 currency tab (which would be the ideal setup for me).

Until then i am boycotting purchasing further tabs because i feel punished for filling up on unremovable premium tabs.
