Flask Macro VS Stick over 1,2,3,4,5
" There is absolutely no difference from a human perspective. I don't care what the bloody server sees. It's irrelevant from any serious conversation about macros. A human being must press 2 buttons to logout, a logout macro only requires 1 press. Macro's are used to make the users life easier, and a macro that uses 2 potions in one action is from a humans interaction just as action packed as pressing Alt and F4 would be. Even if you wanted to argue I'm wrong there, you just said logout login is supported by GGG and considered one thing for macro purposes, despite requiring multiple imputs to the server. They're being inconsistant there too. I loathe that they allow logout macros. Allowing them is the worst decision they've ever made, and I've mocked it every time I've been present when it's brought up, since it really just boils down to "GGG condones cheating so long as it's the cheats they like". and honestly it's just bullshit from any intelligent standpoint to say yes to it while saying no to less obtrusive actions. You're defending bullshit. It really comes down to it being hard to prove someone logout macro'd so they don't want to put resources into defending any policy on it aside from allowing it. " I fundamentally disagree. Forget the server - it's simple logic. If you have a TV remote which changes channel and volume with the same button, when you press that button you've done two things. Did you change the channel? Yes. Did you change the volume? Yes. Both things were done. By you. It wasn't me. It wasn't aliens. " I'm not sure that it matters. After you literally log out of the game, why would GGG give a toss what you do? The entire point of rules is to dictate what is acceptable in-game so players are on even ground. Rules (and laws) should only exist where there is a clear need for them. If you want to claim that the in-game experience of others, or the game's economy, or whatever needs to be protected from what you do at the log in screen, then that's a case that hasn't been made - best of luck with making it. Your position is a regrettable one. The only change you'll bring about is having them remove that one exception. Is that really a battle worth fighting for? Do you've nothing better to do with your time than argue that mindless obedience and consistency should out-weigh common sense? "VPs are not required to change their posting style. " That is absolutely worth fighting for. It's an insult to claim that this action which makes the game easier, and gives players an unfair advantage, is fine, while other fundamentally equal actions, like using two buttons with 1 potion, are not ok, is not fine. In both cases, the action provides the player a substantial improvement to the suitability of their character. Since GGG has went public with that policy, the endgame of PoE has over time become far more 'bursty'. Where players die in a single split second, or not at all. This is because if players are allowed to log out to other kinds of deaths, then the danger of those deaths vanishes entirely, and GGG can't actually build any kinds of significant threats around them. To claim it's an argument to mindless obedience is to miss the soul of why it's an important issue to me. It's an important issue because it's not only a poor decision to allow logout macro's, but it's also internally inconsistent with their policies on other, less impact-ful macro that come up on a weekly basis, Ala the Popsicle stick example for pots. It's not a waste of my time btw, I'm doing 3 things at once right now. I'm talking about an important game design topic that I'm passionate about, I'm editing a video, and I'm sculpting a model in Blender. This is honestly the least intensive activity I'm doing and it's a good breather from the other actions. Not a waste of time at all. You're conflating two separate things.
As I've said, all you'll achieve is GGG deciding the log out and back in macro needs to only be a log out macro. This isn't what you want, but it's the only potential result of your argument. I'm not sure why you are keen to insist to the person you're talking to that you're paying very little attention to the discussion. Apart from being impolite, it only shows that you are distracted. That does help to explain why the argument you put forward isn't leading where you want it to. This is the last time I'll respond. I've little interest in speaking with someone who can't be bothered to pay attention; even less when they actively boast about it to me. Have a pleasant evening. Let me be clear: Do not imply I am wasting my time or I will assure you I don't care about the belittlement you've thrown my direction (Of claiming what i care about is a waste of my time). You can't insult me with one post then tell me "Oh you don't care so this conversation isn't worth my time"
How rude. I'm glad you're done speaking then. I don't want to share this conversation with you anymore. I have my flask keys laid out like ASDF + Space, so I can hit them all at once at the same time, it's uncomfortable sure, but It's legal
It really pisses me off that they don't either legalise having a macro press all 5 flasks at once or actually implement in the keybinding a "use all flasks" key same goes for holding down the left mouse button to simulate rapid clicking or having "attack in place" not be togglable as if they don't want to improve how the game controls Dernière édition par Coal48#3951, le 24 mars 2017 à 08:10:10

" They sure did for me When I was using the macro I genuinely believed I wasn't doing anything wrong and it never got detected. However I did state what I was doing in a thread (maybe like this one I don't remember) and then they banned me and locked my account After promising I would never use macros again, they unlocked my account Still goes against my values, still mad, doesn't matter what you think, you bow down to authority or lose everything Dernière édition par Coal48#3951, le 21 mars 2017 à 23:45:12

I guess using the "palm of the hand" is breaching the ToS as well then?....Give me a fucking break....
Still in the alpha stage, but at least build diversity isn't an issue: https://wolcengame.com/home/

" I guess. I have a number pad since I worked at a bank once. I just slap my hand on it when I need my potions, and with one imput from me, it button mashes like 0-9 and enter. Seeing as a Popsicle stick is illegal I'll prolly get banned for using a macro I'm not using one day. The policy really doesn't make any sense. To be honest though; it would be much better to just remove the desire to want to do this in the first place. If flasks were actually designed in a way that doesn't reward spamming them having to talk about how dumb it is that a macro for it isn't allowed (while logout is for some reason) wouldn't even be a convo to have. I don't see why on 1 hand you can have a macro to log out, but not to auto flask or auto swap gems. To me, I don't care about server interactions, they are all marcos at the end of the day. Can't have 1 rule for macro A and a different rule for macro B. But yet we do in PoE.
