Regarding the Scold's nerf; No fun allowed?
Going to post another one just for the sake of discussing something. In this patch, Scold's Bridle got changed and the builds we knew no longer work. Not just nerfed like CoC or Mjölner, the item got fucked and the old builds are literally not playable anymore.

The build required you to maintain your flasks perfectly or else you would die instantly. It isnt even HC viable or something you could seriously push the ladder with due to the fact that you die every so often. So again, dear GGG, why do you have to completely fuck a build like this that isnt even considered a meta build? Are 10+ spells every ~0.5 seconds too hard on your servers or are you afraid that the upcoming xbox release can not handle the lag? Is it because you dislike people triggering loads of spells at once (hello old CoC) or simply the fact that this build was not another CI VP PF BV/HoA/BF Vinktars copycat? I once loved PoE for its build diversity and the fact that you could build crazy stuff like this. Builds that just not look cool but are also effective at most stages of the game. You once had more build diversity and let people discover / experience crazy builds like this by combining different mechanics, PoE was legit the only game I know that let you do something like this. It was fun, but now it is gone. Guess I should just shut the fuck up and roll something like Flameblast Totems, one of the Vinktars CI builds (that have been strong forever, but those are fine because they are not played by a minority, right?). I was already heavily disappointed with the CoC and Mjölnir changes, this is just icing on the cake. I know it doesn't matter nor will anyone care but you just lost yourself a loyal customer here. They are getting rid of all the triggering slowly but surely for consolization. This game will really binary DPS stacking, nothing interesting, directional targeting skills.
And it wasnt as fast as you said CWDT has a .25 sec cooldown (like cospris, like mjo) so fastest it could cast was like them. just imagine how awesome this game would be if ggg didnt try to "balance" everything.
sure you have your opop builds but really it's just a game why you have to balance everything to the point where players no longer play a certain build or use a certain item... GGG have a fetish for ruining what makes their game great... |

"You are right, CwDT has a internal cooldown of .25 but remember this: " With all the good gear, like onslaught on your chest and max movespeed on both belt and amulet, you triggered a 520+ mana cost cyclone twice a second (roughly) and could realibly trigger level 20 CwDT with that. Since CwDT's cooldown waits for the damage threshhold to be met, you could not hit spell casts every .25 seconds with that build. |

I did. My mana cost was 970 and my cast speed was 4.33 so I did like 3800 damage to myself every .25

Ah I see, I thought you were referring to the Cyclone variant. 970 mana cost changes everything. Nevermind then, my bad.

Every build was different tahts what was so cool about it. You could slot any combo of spells, EE if you wanted, physchaos and poison if you wanted with cospis, run RF if you wanted and so on. I will miss this play style. Its sad so few got to try it.

"I know, right :p I had a Hierophant variant with AoE spells on gloves, a Berserker that triggered spells with a 5 aps Shield Charge and even a Deadeye for maximum Projectile action. All are gone for good now. Playing around with Scold's during Breach was probably the most fun I had in a while. Also, I was so proud of this one. So many essences blown and this was the only halfway decent craft :/

Let´s be honest, it is somewhat retarted if you can procc 20 spell´s of your gear. I devenetly think that ggg will nerv evry last bit of self-inflict damage, plus Berserk and Vaal-pact. Don´t get me wrong, i do like procc´s in arpg´s, but that a bit random.
I wonder, if a spelltotem+aura can Trigger it aswell, because of the high mana amount. Even though that Combo may no longer work in the future, there are still other retarded combo´s, like the Juggernaut with enduriance Charge on hit taken, or Inquisitor/sabboteur to cover the whole Screen in Smoke,blessed ground. Making cast on damage/stun taken a Support gem rather than a item-Affix is where they screwed up. Let´s say if it would have been a Enchant or Affix, they could have Limit it to one item Slot only and make it more reliable. |
