If you play PoE on a laptop you have no right to complain about performance issues
Wifi is horrid for online gaming. For example when wired my latency ranges from 40-100. On wifi it 150-2000. I can run lockstep on a wired connection, on wifi that's just asking for your screen to freeze while the mobs kill you.

I have a gaming laptop (I travel a lot) and it runs POE just fine.

Every laptop with a somewhat recent dedicated graphics card should run PoE just fine. You can get a decent one for 700 bucks.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Nonsense. There are fast laptops like ASUS ROGs and Dell aleinwares.
I actually play on a business line Dell 7470 sometimes with onboard video - that means no video card but whatever is on intel CPU - then it gets bad sometimes. But its SC so whatever. I don't mind deaths here and there. It does have a SSD though. Thats probably the only thing i'd say is a "must have" Git R Dun! Dernière édition par Aim_Deep#3474, le 5 févr. 2017 à 11:51:01

As long as the laptop meets the requirements as set out by GGG, then the game should be playable. It doesn't matter whether you play on a laptop or a desktop per se. Silly thread, -1.

I call bullshit, you have the same rights when playing on laptop.

Laptops are almost as fast as desktop computers that I don't understand why there are so many people still interested in desktop computers, or see laptops as unfit for working and gaming duties. Having a portable computer is almost always better than having 15-20% more performance.
And modern wi-fi routers do not add any latency to your network connection. I guess that the OP has never used a laptop or a good wi-fi connection yet :( |

I will chime in on the wired vs wifi debate. I started out on wifi, and it was a hot mess. Downgraded the graphics settings in the config file. Looks atrocious, but runs well enough, but still laggy as hell with frequent disconnects. Hooked up to a CAT-6, latency was consistent and lower, no disconnects. We recently upgraded our cable service, and the tech got us a new signal splitter... shrug... so my roommate asked if I would test the wifi... which was only ever a problem with PoE anyway. Still is. On the upside, I did get to push my texture quality up a level in the config since getting wired. But, yeah, looking to get a good desktop anyway, so, win. I have lag no matter what system I use to play the game.
Ground effects, things that devour, resurrecting necromancers and sometimes when exile is near. Game is amazing though and lag isn't a constant problem so it's fine. |
