Taming + Emberwake Rings

First off, I would like to wish Path Of Exile's Community a very Merry m Christmas and a Happy holiday!

I will jump straight into my questions.

Two days ago, I finally acquired my dream rings,The Taming and Emberwake, to most of you guys it may be nothing or even rich enough to consider as vendor's food. For the past two days, I've been searching through forums and reddit for build that uses these two rings, but it seems like these rings became "obsolete" or forgotten by people. Below are some of the burning questions I would like to seek some light to it:

1. Is there any current build ( 2.4/2.5 ) that uses these two rings ?

2. Which class benefit most from these rings ?

3. Is there any build that uses these two rings, that is guardian viable ?

4. Is lightning ball Build viable with these rings ?

Any inputs and suggestion are greatly appreciated thanks guys

Merry Xmas.

1. Like you said yourself, the combo is kinda obsolete because poison kinda does the same thing, only better. One more snag is that conditional damage bonuses don't apply to damage over time so Taming damage bonus won't work with ignites, it also has an exponential ramp-up and that doesn't work well when you got clear speed meta going.

2. More builds than class, I remember seeing good results from Firestorm or Oro Flicker and you can do those with pretty much anything.

3. One guardian is immune to ignite so it wouldn't be my build of choice for tackling them. It was fine while it was just Atziri but if this is a trend the build can only get less popular.

4. Sure, if you can get it to Ignite.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Hi there thanks for the reply, appreciated.

its seems like I have wasted my exalts on this ring ... really really kinda regret... you were right one of the guardian and atziri were immune to ignite, and poison stacks without pre-conditional requirement, felt so stupid, and there goes my hard-earn exalt ..
Who knows, we're expecting some changes to damage over time in 3.0, maybe it will work better then and maybe it won't but Taming is still a nice collector's item.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Hope so, but Taming wasn't double dipping in the first place so it will get fucked less.

Technically fire damage does double dip since it increases fire damage and burning damage, but that's another thread for another day.

EmberTaming is vastly superior to poison. You can plug it in to just about any build and entire parties can benefit off of it, and with wider options too.

Imagine a party of six people using Emberwakes and Tamings with insignificant tooltips of some 1k DPS, at best. 3,000% increased damage would bring that to...wow, a lot more than a build that costs a shit ton of money. Oh, and all six of them benefit from it.

Or, you know, you could have five people with Emberwakes and one with The Taming and still do amaze-a-job. Hell, you could make do with only two Emberwakes.
Yes, Emberwake kinda just turns your ignite into poison, and you can find skills that poison perfectly fine. The Taming however can be an absolutely insane damage boost when used in boss fights. The biggest obstacle is the prevalence of good farm content that is ignite-immune and not poison-immune (Argus, Atziri, Insulation map mod).

You want to use these rings in a build that uses a rapid cast/attack fire skill: Flame Totem, Incinerate, Fire/Icestorm, Fire Nova Mine, Ball Lightning, and maybe even Barrage or Molten Strike (though MS is kinda poopy for general purpose).

Good target classes are ones that provide ignite chance, generic more damage bonuses or penetration, and not reliant on crits: Elementalist, Berserker, Pathfinder, Slayer etc.

I am personally planning an EmberTaming Fire Nova Miner with a +3 fire bow as Elementalist or Saboteur. I think it might actually turn out pretty usable.

The Taming has a different kind of damage bonus, though.

The rest is a difference in opinions, Emberwake is fine but poison is stronger and much more convenient overall.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
