[Remake] Tornado Shot Build - DeadEye Ranger

Hello

I have been following your guide the last weeks

And I got told that using assassins mark curse with curse on hit with frenzy doesnt really work that well since it would only curse 1 mob....

And that you are better off using it with herald of ice in combination with curse on hit and the curse spell, You could even combine this with ice bite...so that you wouldnt need to frenzy at all....

Wouldnt this be better than having to need a 6 link for the frenzy skill which you need to apply every 10 seconds???

Post of mine from another topic:
I find frenzy a good way to spread curse.
Frenzy+COH+AM+Pierce+GMP(works better with drillneck and pierce nods)
With RotC we can use Frenzy+COH+AM+pierce+PCoC+FA--- as the result we gain max frenzy and double source of power charges and all pack cursed. In this case damage isn't a priority since TS is both good for single and aoe targeting.

As na alternative you can use Lightning arrow. Other ways that you find sufficient to apply curses are good as well-it's all up to you to decide.
If it doesn't require much time, mana and curses packs of monsters than it's a good way to apply curses.

Now this is not the worst setup I have ever seen but there are so many mistakes in this build that I would recommend all players to avoid this setup. Read Neversink's guide for a better understanding of the basics of bow characters. I gotta be honest here... it is kind of terrible :(

So what are the mistakes in this guide?

A) Lots of mistakes when it comes to gem setups. The 6L in chest is a very inefficient power charge generator. It is a total waste of a 6L -.-

The blink arrow makes little sense. If you are blinking away from melee range and try to utilize blind you are doing something wrong. Don't go into melee range. So 2 wasted gem slots here.

Arctic armor somewhat okay'ish for a bow character. The damage reduction only works when you are standing still so if you are playing your character correctly it shouldn't actually make any difference. Now it does grant some defense when you mess up but the opportunity cost by selecting a essence worm ring is just not worth it (we will get back to that).

No blood rage. Huge dps loss, bad frenzy generation and bad set up for Vaal gems (and what is Vaal Rain of Arrows doing there? The stun is a waste. Again wasted slot).

Herald + Blink Arrow + Ice Golem + Faster Projectiles
CWDT + INC DUR + IM + BLOOD RAGE
Vaal Grace (Haste sucks now because of 4second duration) - Vaal Grace - Vaal Grace - Inc. Duration
Chest - Get a proper 6L setup. Either for single target dps or proper Power Charge Generation.
Ice Shot - CoH - Assassins Mark - Pierce - GMP (5L) + Hatred Unlinked

Also in this section it is worth mentioning that if you really want those Power Charges (really you should just get a Diamond Flask instead - it's much better) the classic CoH - Ass. Mark - Herald of Ice / Herald of Thunder instead of Herald of Ash is also a good option.

B) Flask Setup. 1 or 2 healing flasks at the very maximum. Quicksilver with extra speed mod, Silver Flask OR diamond flask with freeze duration and freeze immunity, Taste of Hate. If you only roll with 1 instant healing flask (instant, remove bleeding) you could add in another flask but that depends on personal preference.

Flasks are an important big deal when it comes to itemization. Do not neglect them.

C) Passive tree. Now the passive tree isn't terrible but there are cost-inefficient choices across the board that needs changing.
Spoiler

(updated tree). Is better. In short - Get jewels. Get Something boosts your flasks (endgame = Druidic Rites, early + midgame = Primal Spirit. Honestly I don't really like the 4 points into life duelist leech tree. You can easily do with just 1 point into mana leech and just live of the leech from blood rage and blood drinker. Imho it's 3 wasted points.

D) Itemization.

These are your goals as a bow character:
Pure dps slot = no suffixes must be spend on resistances.

Amulet = pure dps slot. 30+ multi (tier 2), 50+ life, high STR and INT. Flat phys and crit chance is also nice.
Boots = 30% movement speed, high life, tri res (2 very high res nodes + INT is also acceptable).
Helmet = Rat's Nest is a solid choice. Let us just assume you go down that lane. The item grants movement speed, crit chance, attack speed but no life or resistances. That you are missing out on a flat life opportunity in this item slot and it makes resistances harder in other item slots. Still just keep it.
Quiver = Pure dps slot. Crit Multi 30+ (tier 2) , High life and crit chance (27 minimum due to crafting). Also get either WED or room for attack speed enchant (or both). As a rule of thumb Attack Speed > WED but attack speed is also more expensive.
Belt = Rustic Sash or Leather Belt. Get a much higher life roll. Minimum 80. Dual res with flask duration OR tri res if you cannot afford flask duration.

At this point you wanna stop and think carefully about the rest of your gear choices.

Rings are great DPS slots. If you take DPS slot on your gloves your rings will become defensive and you will miss out on good DPS stats. If you go for Unique with very low resistance in your Chest Piece this becomes even more of an issue. If you also go for unique ring like Essence Worm with 0 resistance on it being resistance capped becomes even harder. Hopefully it starts to show for the observant reader that the item choices of the OP are quite bad.

3 extra points regarding this.
The Chain and Cloth passives gives +15 all res. That is too bad if a build is starved on resistances with bad gear.
Jewel slots are excellent at building up extra resistances.
It is okay to have some resistances on your rings. They are good for DPS but as good as Quiver and Amulet.

Now in the case of this build it doesn't really make much sense to go for Belly of the Beast. The increased life is quite low on this build but so is the flat life (especially because OP has 0 HP on 4 uniques, including Belly of the Beast). So Belly gives lower life than a Rare with a T1 life roll because such a rare can also have much more resistances which in turn makes resistances easier on other item slots which then again makes it easier to find even more life on those items.

So here are 2 item setup's

A) Rare Chest with TRI res and T1 life (high evasion if possible) + Maligaro's Gloves + slight defensive ring and + offensive ring + 2 x jewels with life and dps stats.
B) Unique Chest (Kaoms heart, Lightning Coil or Kintsugi) + Rare Gloves with Dual res and Attack speed + high life + slight defensive ring and + offensive ring + 2 x jewels with life and dps stats.

One of the most important dps stats on rings are accuracy btw.

So basically: OP should throw out more than half his gear.

Yes he gains Arctic armour but the opportunity cost is massive. He gets 0 life and 0 resistance on a ring. This means lower dps. He also get's both Rat's Nest, Belly and Maligaro's Gloves on top of that. Overall this means his dps is very low because he cannot get crucial (better) DPS stats on amulet, quiver, rings and jewels. Also his resistances and life is lower.

So overall: Worse survivability and lower dmg.

I hope this is not too harsh at the OP but honestly this guide is doing more harm than good to any new players who might be looking for good advice.

could you remake this build for 2.6.0?
Could I ask possibly a noob question? This is my first character and i'm using this build. I'm using Blink Arrow with a linked Lesser Multiple Projectiles (Don't have greater yet) and it's only summoning one clone? Is that correct? I'm confused about the point of the support gem.

it shoots few arrows instead of one, everything is ok

People use Lesser/Greater Multi. Proj. with skills like Tornado Shoot/Ice Shoot/Lightning Arrow. They all shoot single arrows by default, but are also nice skills to clear whole groups of mobs if you only link it with said LMP or GMP gems.
Burn all the orbs!

Make your profile public in privacy settings and we will see what's wrong with your char.
I dont use The Reach, changed for a harbinger with more damage (at least for what i can spend now and i think it's better) and i need use the Vaal Pact to survive, but i feel a bit "weak" so. I have around 23k dps(i'm playing since just 5 weeks ago), now my focus is in life and resist because i was dying so much.

I doing it wrong? Can some one see and say to me?
