i have no mana for blasphemy in my setup

I see a lot of trying to play in this build, but in other things, such as BoR etc is a big mistake.
I spent approximately 280-300 hours for the whole league from the beginning, and all content is fully 1shot no deaths.
You just need to understand that you do not need to tank, this build is made for damage, this build is very strongly tied to human skill that if you have a bad reaction, then you'll die all the time, you need to rearrange the Totems have to kill everything before die themselves. All things in this guide are selected very well, it is not necessary to replace the shoes Atziri Steps on boots with resists, do not need to change the Old One's on shield with resists and so on, in this build is very important to Block and Dodge.

In other words, if you do not want much strain, but just want ALL FARM, just do everything as in the guide by guggelhupf

One thing that I find really annoying is that I'm constantly out of mana. I plop 3-5 totems down and I'll be out of mana. I'm using the same flask setup as you - so I don't have a mana potion (which is annoying enough to use).

How can I get my mana back from casting the totem? I would rather not use Blood Magic.

Just use Enduring Cry mate, drop 2 totems and fire an EC...you'll get all your mana back ;)

I take your point - if the original build is good enough for you and you don't want to optimize then by all means follow the guide. If you dodge very well then the original guide is fine.

In fact, I think that the original guide is excellent - it's also pretty easy to gear for as it's far easier to fill resists on the tree than to get gear for this.

If, however, you want more survivability, then BoR is much safer - albeit at the cost of DPS - while still enabling you to complete all content below Shaper - it's a much more forgiving setup, allowing you to take physical hits from time to time that would otherwise kill you.

The option to get resists on your gear instead of on the tree allows you to take more damage passives and jewels and endurance charges. This option has higher DPS but is harder to gear for. If you don't want this extra damage - it's indeed optional. Moreover, this option won't be available at league start as it requires better gear.

Again, the above variants may or may not appeal to various players - struggling for survivability? - well then BoR may be of appeal - like to min-max for higher damage? - well, then getting resists on gear and taking more damage nodes and more jewels may be of appeal - just want to kill Shaper and be done with it? - well, if you're good at dodging, then the OP's original guide is definitely the way to go as it's easier to gear for than the higher DPS variant.

One last suggestion for DPS maximizers... Phase Run can boost melee physical damage by up to 30%. Zizran made this point in his Shaper video guide. 30% more DPS is something I definitely want to work into my AW build - moreover, while phasing, the Shaper orbs that follow you can sometimes be made to lose track of your toon and stop following you. Another bonus for Phase Run. My links are very crowded though ATM - but 30% more DPS is just too good to give up on. Next league I'll definitely incorporate PR into my AW build.

sure you can ;) just pick some high phys dmg rolled ring, BIS are steel rings
