I have the most important question of all::::

Does the jewel affix: % increased Damage if you've Killed Recently - Work with this build?? Wasn't sure if I actually had to kill something (not possible) or my totems count!

Anyone have the definitive answer?

nope it DONT work, because ur totems kill and not you.
the same way is the passive from "Rite of Ruin" wich says "25% increased Attack Speed if you haven't Killed Recently". because you never kill yourself its 100% up

But mostly what I am interested in is: Is Tukohamas shield a better DPS shield compared to Great Ones or not? And if so, how or when exactly?

I am pretty sure that flasks have nothing to do with this question.

flasks ARE a part of your dmg, so it has to do with your question. anyway its nearly the same and it depends highly on your own gear. so check in PoB yourself wich ist best for you. and again: I never said that the advanced build ist better than the low budged one. booth can clear all content without any problems. its just a different playstyle wich u need to test urself if you like it or not

what you can see its a good defense upgrade at my tukohama build, wich means i put more points into defense (my great old ones has better aps, wich is the point why it does it bit more dmg) because it uses another skill tree. so i could go out of life and more into dmg. after that the dmg from tukohama would be better than great old. its hard to compare when you dont use the same skill tree :/

btw the 800k tooltip hideout dps screenshot is from the ultra high budget version, not the advanced ;)

Made it up to level 91 now and starting to push into T12 maps. no real issues yet either other than the occasional one shots one would expect from wearing the Abyssus helmet.
Ran Atziri 3 times and was a breeze! all the mobs went down really quick including Atziri.
Elders thru the yellow tier haven't been an issue at all either. pretty powerful build. Biggest part is positioning so if your good at that, there shouldn't be any issues with going all the way with this build.
Still only using a 5L belly. do notice the missing extra range though. have the gems leveled though so ready to upgrade anytime.

Have focused on maximizing my jewels to get maximum damage. have gone with the % increase damage and seems to be working out good.
HP is around 5.6k.
been using Frost Wall on the cwdt setup and like it. a little annoying sometimes but it hasn't gotten me killed and it has saved me many times.
Gear

DPS maxed out is over 278k with both pots up and takes the bosses down pretty quickly! lions roar is about 50k and chalice is around 10k dps.

Thanks guggel, thats what i was afraid of!
Does "%chance to taunt on hit" work with totems? I found a decent abyss jewel with that affix on it and curious if totems will proc it.

not sure but should be working. also not sure how usefull it is, because our totems have no good defense and get easy killed

Yeah I know.

Well I realised that your 800k tooltip dps is with flasks up as well. Thought that was your base dps.

Well anyways, was playing a bit with POB and did some hand calculations and have calculated the following:

Until you have Sins Rebirth and Taste of Hate it is much better to drop atziris promise and run the ancestral warchief like this:

It will do a better DPS as opposed to atziris promise and lions roar up and it has a much higher non-flasked dps as opposed to the original guide setup. Lions roar still works as it is a phys dmg flask. You can then store atziris till you acquire the rest of the flasks and use something else (basalt flask, ele res flasks, quicksilvers, what ever). When you start acquiring taste of hate and sisns rebirth it is better to switch to the planned skill setup.

Next thing I calculated: With abyssal jewels, if you manage to find phys dmg jewels (almost doesn't matter what roll, but preferrably at least a 3-6 roll or higher) and at least 45HP, it is better to replace any 7% maximum life and dmg increase jewel (unless you have something really crazy but then, phys dmg abyssal jewels go even crazier), both the HP and DPS will go up.

Note of warning: This calculation has been tested with the Tukohama tree ( around 30% higher HP multiplier as opposed to beginner tree) though I have also quickly calculated it with the beginner tree and it is still better to replace at least 4, possibly 5 jewels with abyssals and you gain both HP and DPS. You can also replace all six jewels with abyssals and trade a tiny bit of HP (100ish) for a substantial DPS increase.

With abyssal jewels I now currently sit at 6.7k HP at lvl 90 (was at cca 6.4kHP with 7% life normal jewels) and raised my dps by cca. 15k DPS with similar costing abysal jewels (numbers are nonbuffed, non flasked, went from 95k DPS per totem to 110kDPS just by replacing jewels with cheap 10c ones).

Last thing I figured out is that POB only shows damage per one totem. So basically when I said I had 95kDPS I actually had almost 300k DPS unbuffed with all three totems up. Which does make Tukohama a significantly superior shield as opposed to great ones.

Fully buffed with full health and shock on ground I now do 430k DPS per totem or 1.29M phys DPS with 3 totems up (for comparison: 466kDPS per totem with Great Ones Ward shield or 932k DPS with both totems up).

POB only shows 1 totem total DPS

Hope all this also helped other people asking themselves the same questions or at least how to min-max your gear until you reach all of the required items.
