Latency display = pure fake ?
What's the matter with that latency display? It always shows 30-40msec, even when it's super laggy (like at the moment, almost one second). It definitely shows *not* the latency.

Maybe you've mistaken desync for lag?

I'm talking about latency which is the same as lag.

" Well yeah but if your latency is fine you might just have issues with desync and not lag, that was my whole point. |

yes it's a fake display.

It also displays your FPS. If that drops, you also have 'lag'.

Not all desync is latency-related.
Some desync (and the kind most people complain about) is related to client prediction. Using whirling blades is a good way to see it in action. It's known and getting fixed. |

"This is not true. Latency is the delay between a packet being sent and being received."Lag" is a person's perception of delays, which usually consists of latency, CPU/GPU/RAM/HDD slowdown/stuttering, desync, and any number of other factors. The point is that there are more things than server-to-client latency (what is shown in F1) that affect your visual perception of how laggy the game is. You can have great latency with packet loss.

Since the game most likely uses UDP you can have huge packet loss with low latency.
