Linked Steam Account Characters Deleted

Account linking causes your Steam account to log into a specified Path of Exile account, and each Steam account can only be linked to a single Path of Exile account. "VPs are not required to change their posting style. They are still welcome to express their opinions and take part in any discussions they wish. Their only responsibility is to continue doing what they have always done - posting in a friendly and constructive manner."

Hello, I am in need of help.. I originally was playing the game through steam and i could use that account on the actual pathofexile.com client version instead of steam.. i was crashing for no error stating the issue so i went to try to play the game as client.. which when i did i realize i couldnt use my characters that i had and its all gone.. when i load path of exile in steam version my characters were erased. i already email for support help and i gave the information that it was needed. what i originally was trying to do is play my characters from steam version to the client version without steam. If theres any information that is not being place please let me know and Thank you for time.
