[2.0] Blood Rage degen effect is not reduced by Armor
Hello everyone,
i don´t know if this works as intended, but the degen effect from Blood Rage is not affectet by Armor at all. Before 2.0 it could reduced by stacking Chaos resist. Now you have to stack %-physical Damage reduction to reduce the damage taken by Blood Rage. Sure, when you get hit by Puncture and have the bleeding effect on you, using a Granite won´t reduce the DOT-Damage. But i don´t know why Armor users cannot reduce the Damage Taken by Blood Rage. Getting 100% Physical Damage reduction from Armor is impossible and with Endurance Charges/Golem/AA it just takes too much investement to negate the degen effect. So letting Armor reducing the degen damage of Blood Rage would help and would make it much more enjoyable. Opinions? cheers NurbelST Level 97 Low Life Animate Weapon (Standart)

armor mitigate phys damage on hit not degen.. endurance charge and life regen will help you mitigate blood rage.

Yes, that´s what i know and how it is. But it would be nice when high Armor Characters would get more reduction of Blood Rage´s degen effect.

Simply put, it's not possible to balance armor lowering Blood Rage's degen. The vast range of armor possibilities coupled with all the levels Blood Rage can be used at means there would be extreme and abused cases no matter what numbers they chose.
It is something to explicitly build around just like Righteous Fire. |

You might use the search next time, I already answered on this a few days ago.
I agree the physical damage over time is quite misleading... Since you can also reduce chaos damage over time with chaos resist (almost all chaos is dot) and could so especially for the old Blood Rage... I guess some people might have build even in that direction to use blood rage with slightly less degen (armor). On the other hand: Just from logic you can know that armor reducing this would be as imbalanced as chaos inoculation was. And why would the devs do that? Because reducing 4% of your life with any amount of armor will be like 1% due to the way armor works against very small damage. on the plus side, you only need 4% (with small amount of ES) or so life regen to counteract the degen with 0% phys reduction.
You can get that from gear alone almost, or a few points on the tree, or some combination. Enduirng cry also does a good job of countering the degen with the new regen effect if you spam it on cool down if nothing else works for you. Or good phys dmg output to out leech it. Lots of options to make it fall to the background and be inconsequential amount of damage. Hey...is this thing on? Dernière édition par LostForm#2813, le 20 juil. 2015 à 10:52:28

Blood Rage degen is internal damage done to you by the spell...
Armour protects you against things hitting you from the outside... There is thus no logical reason why armour should protect you against it. |

You could also use Blood Dance to easily out-regen it, at least while leveling until your passive so are sorted out.

Note armour doesn't protect against bleed damage itself either (but it softens initial damage).
In fact, armour doesn't protect against DoTs. So be mindful of that. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1394759 - Suggestion for beginner tutorial.
