PoE takes a LONG time to load for me.

Anyone having this problem? PoE is the only game i play that takes about 2 minutes from startup to load. Then also quite a while when switching areas and whatnot.

My computer is pretty badass so i can't tell what the problem is.

same here man. initial load takes forever. after first load tho it starts pretty fast

I shouldn't need one, i don't have any problems with any other games.

The game precaches most game content in to RAM when you first start it, to minimize hitches/stutter during gameplay. That's why the initial load screen takes a fair while to complete.

As for why the load screens between each area take a while? I don't know, perhaps you have a slow mechanical HDD (Not slow because it is mechanical, slow because it is a cheap/budget mechanical drive)? I have a Seagate 7200.14 model mechanical HDD and load times between areas are fine.

The initial load screen when entering a new area for the first time/generating a new instance is likely caused by the server that is handling it, taking some time to generate the new level layout before sending the logic seed to your client which must then also generate the same level layout before letting you begin.

After the initial entry in to a specific Instance, it should load fast whenever returning to that specific Instance.

Except for the bit about the initial loading screen precaching most game content, this is all assumptions. If a developer wants to clarify anything then go right ahead.

Way back in closed beta, I remember a dev posting that they are aware of the long load time issue, and it will be improved when they do final optimization and polish prior to the official launch of the game.

I see a lot of threads with loading issues but none of them are quite as bad (that I have found. During start-up it usually takes around 10-15 minutes, and each time it has to load it takes around 5-8 minutes, the game has gotten so bad that lately it has just been timing out and going back to the login screen each time it has to load.

I don't think that it's my computer, other games like Hawken, Remember Me, and Metro Last Light have about normal loading times. It seemed to get worse with the recent update.

lol i Play Tera perfectly wich is a 200x times more advanced game but this game takes like 5 min to load when startup and maps sometimes take 1 min + and yea i got a good pc.

even postal had faster loading screens.
