Do you get disconnected from AFK/idling in town?

I tend to spend a lot of time in town waiting for servers to get better before I decide to venture out on my HC character, but sometimes I get kicked and I'm uncertain if it's still server issues or if there is something in place that boots AFK's to ease the server load. Could someone from GGG confirm or deny whether AFK/idles get disconnected?

PS: This is not meant as a complaint or QQ, just simply curious.
i've actually noticed, i can afk in zone for ages, but i stay in town for 30 seconds, i get punted.

i've commented on it to my guildies, and so far its standing up to testing.

In one of the last couple nights before Closed Beta ended I fell asleep in the chair just idling in town. Woke up 4 - 5 hrs later still in town.

May have changed in OB but don't know for sure.
I get DC'd on occasion, but I don't think it's due to an idle timer.

It makes sense to drop idle players when you have a queue of thousands of players wanting to get involved in your game and limited server backbone until upgrades are in place..

However I have noticed too, that just being IN town leads to a drop eventually.. I was sorting items and ID'ing and selling combinations for currency and still got dropped repeatedly. clearly not afk.

The system may be a little overly aggressive atm.
I have dc'd thrice in OB, once clicking on Greust and twice dropping a portal. Both "involved" town.
Thread killer.
I have never timed it, but in CB when I would leave my computer for about 15 mins I would get a dc in town. Occasionally I get them while I am buying/ stashing in town, but those are not too common.
At the moment, it would be very difficult to confirm this, however during CB, i had no problems AFking every night , and leaving POE running constantly for days.
GGG - Why you no?
I've noticed the same thing OP. I don't linger long in town if I can help it now.
i load into the game and dive for the waypoint, and immediately put myself in a zone.

i can then afk for ages, and no issues, but i lose connection in town constantly.

i'm not sure "afk" is the right term here, i feel there's more going on, and it may just be an issue of having intense traffic in that one area, as opposed to getting punted for idling in town.

further ponderance.

cheers
