Shackles of the Wretched. tried so hard to make it work...

So the theory was to punishment myself, then do big hits with ethereal knives in order to have the reflect damage come back and stun/block me thus triggering several cast when stunned gems. With CI and no +life nodes/gear getting stunned by mobs is ultra-easy.
The final result... failure. I cant seem to do enough damage to stun myself...
Is it even possible?
If not, what good could the curse reflection possibly have? Is this truly the ultimate in worthless items?

Use Cast when Damage Taken. So much better.

Can't stun yourself through reflect no matter how high your dmg is.

I always figured it was aimed at people trying triple totem builds and soul mantle, since you could negate the one crippling weakness that comes with soul mantle by reflecting punishment or warlords mark or whatever back on yourself to override the random curses.

Has nobody tried this?

Edit: nevermind, just read this on the wiki about SM:

"This curse does not count toward any active curse limit; it will applied in addition to any existing curses."

So lame.

On another note, gotta love random wiki typos.

You're supposed to use CwDT.
You can't stun yourself with reflect.

i was thinking punishment+low lvl flamability

on an incinerate build with berek's for the free 5k armor without any drawback (since burns from incinerate would be laughably low) or something along those line.

but i figure too much investment for the returns.

like this I could play with my girlfriend, she would play a CI character with cast on death + portal gem and have a mana flask that removes a % of mana recovered from life when used, because she is CI she insta-dies giving me the frenzy charges
