Do Away with Instance Resets

I am so tired of having to redo and re-redo,and re(ad-nausum)do the same map levels over and over and over again because the instance die off.

Keep at least one instance per user/group all the time - never delete it!

A player should NEVER have to replay a a reset map.

I think the map reset it brilliant.
So many times in other games, such as Diablo or Sacred, when joining a party parts of the map have been cleared out already and you're unable to get credit. With this system joining parties doesn't eliminate the chance at receiving help in overcoming those more difficult parts in the game.
If you're finding it annoying to repeatability be clearing out the same area try dropping a portal to avoid running them again. Or, if you're clearly past the point of needing the clear the area (For example if you're heavily out-leveling it) just run right through.

If instances never reset, then the server load continually increases, to the point where the servers die... so, yeah, your suggestion is bad.
Doing and redoing and redoing the same area in game like this.
Hm
Who would have though?

Well; technology. They could implement a serialization protocol for the game, and spin it all to disk when you're offline. Theoretically. In practice, I'm with you, because the benefits just aren't that high.
The instance reset is just plain too fast. I should not be in a rush to sell my loot after a tp for fear that the tp will close and the instance is reset. There is already a way to force an instance to reset on your own, which is great. Either the reset timer needs to be greatly increased, or made to only self reset when all members of the party that created have logged out. This is an awesome game(the best diablo style game ever made imo), but the instance reset is very annoying.
Yes, something must be done to the instance resets. I understand that it would strain the servers a bit more but at least the levels of a single dungeon should remain explored as long as you are in the dungeon.

As an example, I was going through a 2 level dungeon in Act 3 yesterday. The second level had a "boss fight" of sorts which came so suddenly that I forgot to put up a TP and I also died very quickly (because of the surprise attack). I had spent a good deal of time in the dungeon because I wanted to clear the levels completely to maximize exp and loot gain. So when I WP'd back to the entrance, the first level had resetted although the outside world hadn't. This made me furious and I rage-quit for that day.

Forcing the player to replay content like that does not increase the difficulty, it is just plain annoying. Some of you will probably say "just use a TP always" but I don't think that kind of a mechanic is the right way to go. At least then we should have an option to automatically use a TP scroll when entering a new area or something.

Punishing players for their mistakes is fine but punishing them with a possibly huge re-grind for forgetting something as small as a TP is not.

If you are having a issue with you TP closing because your taking your sweet time in town do what I do. When Im full up on loot I id any loot I may want to use while in the instance and then when I tp to town I just dump everything into my stash and head back through my portal. Only when I have discovered the next waypoint thats when I spend time in town going through the loot I dumped in my stash, spending any skill points I have may acquired, turn global and trade chat on to see if Ive missed anything interesting.

Town portal last for as long as the instance is open which is 8-15 minutes depending on the zone. That is plenty of time to take a quick bio, make a quick phone call, grab a quick bite to eat, port to each town and check the vendors after you level up if you are so inclined to do that sort of thing.
Luke: Sorry we have to leave you here, but it just ain't right to eat your wife's and daughter's brains. Plus you're really disgusting and I don't want to spend anymore time with you.

That's fine if you're able to do all that within 8 minutes, but the question is, should you have to? Should you have to even think "I need to get this done quick or my tp will close on me and all the areas I already did will be reset"? I don't think you should. A tp is a way to go back to town to take care of everything you need to do without having to re-travel to the point you're at. So it closing while in the the middle of taking care of everything and forcing you to re-travel AND re-fight your way back is a bit ridiculous.
Well if its such a problem then throw some money at GGG so they can get more servers.

Right before open beta when they had all the servers ready for open beta the instance timers in closed beta where around 45 minutes because there was a low number of closed beta testers versus server space.

At the same time way back in last june they had a public test weekend and servers got recked and instances would only stay open for 60 seconds.
R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.
