Internet completely shutting down

So I've recently started playing again and was quite enjoying it until I hit the problem of my internet disconnecting for like a second or so. I thought it was just my ISP messing up on me. But a friend of mine said hes having the same problem, so I thought it was just the area we were living in were having internet issues. I played a few more days and started to realize that it was only happening when I was playing POE when it happens.

What I have figured out and confirmed happening.

1. Disconnect from internet completely. (disconnect from vent, can't load internet pages)
2. still running around in POE killing things, until I change maps.
3. Get dc'd from POE
4. instantly get all my internet back

This happened to me 5 times in a row so I am not too sure what the problem is, or how to fix the problem. Anyone got any suggestions??

If it's only happening with PoE, then my guess is that your Router or Modem are having issues. There's nothing specific about PoE that would cause your whole internet to completely shut down. More than likely, PoE is doing something that is triggering a malfunction in your network hardware... the real question is where?

Do you have a Router AND a Modem, or is it all-in-one? If you have separate Router/Modem, then I would try connecting your PC directly to the Modem and see if you still have the problem. If not, then it is your Router having issues. If so, then it could be your modem. I'd also attempt a different PC if you can.

It's also possible that some software on the PC is causing it to reset network .. possibly due to firewall or something similar. K9 Web Protection (as an example) does some strange stuff sometimes. It can completely disable network on your PC for a time and then re-open it (as a mitigation tactic).

So it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be hardware... but I can't tell you remotely what's doing it. You're going to have to do more personal research and digging. Using some other equipment can help narrow it down.

As a final question/suggestion... if you have multiple PCs on the network, you should attempt to see if OTHER PCs also cannot reach the internet when your PC has troubles... so play until you get the behavior where it's not working, then attempt to load web pages on a different PC to see if the connection issue is the whole network or just your PC. If it's just your PC, then it's probably software or something causing the issues on your PC. If it's the whole network, then it's more than likely your router or modem.
Yea I run a all-in-one router/modem , so its just 1 box.

When my internet completely shuts down, no other computer on my network can access the internet, also my WiFi completely shuts down as well.

Then it's probably the hardware.
