Heavy strike knockback is just a bad design
Why on earth, any melee character wants his target get knockbacked on each hit...
Doesnt make even a little sense. The DPS it shows is plain wrong since you have to walk to your oppenent after each hit. Dont you think there is a reason why even pure STR characters try to use double strike after all? Also there is that "Add knockback to melee attacks during flask effect" but you can easily be ok without using that. On the other hand, we are talking about Heavy Strike, the main two-handed sword skill. Ce fil de discussion a été automatiquement archivé. Les réponses ont été désactivées.

Knockback (in general) at first seemed like a very appealing thing to have imo, especially as melee character.
But after experimenting with it and noticing the constant desync it produces i gave up on it. Plus if you dont want to use heavy strike the general (and only) "chance to knockback" and "knockback distance" near the marauder are a joke.So you can only take advantage of it by getting the knockback on crit nodes for wands ,bows and staffs really narrowing down the list of possible builds with it. yeah plus knock back reduces your effective dps by around 20 %
knock back in general doesnt really have any use , stun is what people want , and most crit players kill things before knock back matters Dernière édition par Saltychipmunk#1430, le 3 déc. 2013 à 10:28:58

I put knockback on Tempest shield, but to be honest I didn't really notice it doing much of anything.
But then again, the same could be said for Tempest Shield damage anyway.... [Hardcore] Soldiers of the Wasteland - sotwguild.com

" tempest shield is a joke , the block chance is 2 block passives, which in the gand scheme of things is insignificant. it would be much better if it was not a % aura , that way you can stick a bm gem on it and run it on life. because the 25% reserved doesn't really give you much of anything . |

Tempest shield is awesome. Two block % nodes is already awesome for a block build. Plus, there are much better on-hit effects you can proc than knockback. For example, shock.

While it may be true that knockback on HS is poor design (haven't really given it much thought), if so it's perhaps the least egregious example of poor design in the game.

Having played actual slow attacking 2h builds with purely knockback based skills on numerous occasions, including 1 week turbo races, I can confirm that knockback based skills suck shit to actually use.
The amount of chasing (particularly in turbo) is annoying at best. The amount of desync it causes does not help either. You get zero safety from knockback with HS, and it's fairly meaningless with even LS and Sweep (particularly Sweep, as I'm generally seemingly safer using LS, with monsters hitting me less due to movement). |

Knockback with very fast skills can be really useful. The problem is desync makes it pointless.
