Please give the regal orb a %based chance of adding more than one mod

As for now, the regal orb feels like a compeletely useless currency to me because of the fact, that you need such a tremendous amount of currency to craft your personal item, which most people can not afford. The Use / Gain ratio of exalt orbs (keeping their current price on the market in mind) is just silly, because most times you won't get that item which you wanted to craft anyway.

Whoooppps, you just wasted all your currency which you gathered the last months!

I for example haven't even found ONE exalt in one year of playing Path of Exile, respectively some gear / items which I could have sold for one exalt / or the same amount of chaos orbs which are equivalent to one exalt.

For someone who is very unlucky or doesn't farm 8 hours+ / day this crafting system is unfortunate later on, which is quiet sad, because the crafting system of GGG in general is really addictive and fun IF YOU GOT the currency. I do like the crafting but I WOULD LOVE to see some changes in that matter for people with high lvl characters who don't really want to trade the whole day items for currency or vice versa.

So, considering this, an upgrade of the regal orb could neutralize this hefty relation between crafting / trading. Give the Regal Orb a %based chance of adding more than one mod (1-3 mods, 60% for 1 mod,30% for 2 mods,10% for 3 mods) to a rare item, so that crafting your personal high lvl gear becomes more viable (because Regal orbs are much much much much much more common than Exalts) and more attractive.

Maybe this will also decrease the ridiculous value of exalt orbs which is currently floating around the leagues so that even people like me are able to buy at least one orb for crafting.

So does everyone think that the currency is fine as it is? A little bit worrying.

I agree, it would be cool if it had a chance of giving more stats. Its kind of a lackluster feeling when you just get 1 stat :/
I think regal is fine.
Exalts are just ridiculous *cough* f*cki.&!"%$"§ damn &$"!% rare. so it makes regals useless.

This has been suggested many times, and makes perfect sense.
EVERY other affix modification orb in the game has variation like this except regal and exalted. Augmentation is spared because there simply isn't room on the item for this variation.

Regal and exalted, however, should roll 1-3 mods. Or at least a variation on the orbs that have this ability, since regals and exalts have value in crafting perfect items.

*bump*

because this is a serious flaw in PoE's crafting system.

Agreed.

The only times I've ever seen people use Regals, or used Regals myself, have resulted in highly, highly disappointing results (like +4 mana gained on kill, +6 accuracy rating, etc.).

At least give us a CHANCE of having further disappointments added on.

I agree.

I totally dislike that a regal orb increases modnumber from 2 o 3. WTF is this actually?

If you turn a magic item into are rare one, why is the rare item INFERIOR?

Rare items are defined by having 4-6 mods, why does a regal orb rare only have 3? That does not make any sense.

How it should be:

Regaling a magic item increases its mod number to 4(even if you would regal a 1 mod item) and you have a small chance of getting 5 and 6 mods. THis chance should be the same like if you alch or chaos items getting 5 or 6 mods.

PS.:
Just out of curiosity: If you regal a 1 mod blue, will you get a 2 mod rare?
Regals turn it into a rare. What rare do you know that had 3 mods? It should be the standard 4-6 mods.
With the advent of eternal orbs having regals add only one mod may actually be preferable. Not cost effective by any stretch of the imagination but that's a deeper issue of orb value vs orb potential when used for crafting.
