Feature Request: Turn Off Health Globe Art

Hi, I would appreciate it if it were possible to optionally turn off the images attached to the health globes and just have the globes without the naked women chained to them. In 2013 this seems like sort of an obvious thing. Either that, or let you chain naked men to them. Heck, why not both options? Any comment, Chris Wilson?

You know those 2 slave girls on the UI, holding the health and mana globes? Well I heard somewhere that in the original design, they where 100% nude, not covered.
Well, I'd pay to have the nude version!

So the idea is, they could sell different looking User Interfaces.

Seems easy to do and implement, its just a small piece of art to replace ingame, and it totally fits the aesthetic/cosmetic perks they are going for with their microtransactions.

They could sell complete interface overhauls, like a jungle theamed interface,...(think Zerg, Protoss and Terran UI in StarCraft1), or, just small, simple UI perks, like the nude slave girls UI I mentionned. No need to move the buttons around or anything, you just change the static art.

I'd totally pay for that :P

I agree, it is dehumanizing and objectifying of women and it doesn't really seem connected to the rest of the theme either.

Exactly.

The game is set in an era with people being chained up, sent to exile, thrown off ships and left to drown. So how does this not match the theme of the time.

If you find the artwork of someone chained up and possibly left to die pornographic and erotic then that's your problem.

Sorry but I am sick of people trying to sexualise a semi naked or naked body, it natural, everyone has a body.

By all means people / players need to be open-minded when it comes to PoE's art, but not so open-minded that their brains fall out of their heads . . . and that's what's happened.

As mentioned by others, people seem to be open-minded and comfortable about virtual slaughtering, but when it comes to being open-minded about virtual nudity, etc. in any way, shape or form, their brains fall out of their heads.

I agree with others; argue and complain about something that's actually worthwhile.

P.S. The only valid nude, slave-like matter to argue and complain about would be, for example, IF there was a masculine man with a heavy chain in his hand behind the nude woman at the Life Globe, and at the end of the chain is the woman's neck, her teeth cringing tightly together with blood dripping from her mouth, and her face showing countless expressions of indescribable, excruciating pain.

Now that would be visually verbose to the mind and obvious.

Hey look a thread full of men saying naked in women in chains on your screen THE ENTIRE TIME YOU ARE PLAYING isn't sexist and doesn't drive players (like themselves, for example!) away from Path of Exile.

See, the problem with your statement is that trolls aren't being serious.

I refuse to spend a dime on this game and will continue to call it out for being a sexist until the devs do something to fix it. I will do everything I can to make people aware of how sexploitative the UI is of women. They have a chance to right more of the wrongs in the Diablo tradition of games than just mechanics and economy, and they should stand up and do it.

Pandering to 14-30 year old porn addicts is not an acceptable practice in the game industry any more.
