Is Path of Exile portable?

Don't know where to put this thread but it's general, right?
Either way. I want to stick this onto an external hard drive, do you guys think it will work elsewhere WITH INTERNET or is there any feature that will be coming up for this?
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
You will need a new client on the other PC. You can however copy the content.ggpk folder over and replace the one int the destination folder. This will save you 5 gig of downloading.
RIP Bolto
It might work if you install it directly on to the external drive. If that doesn't work, i don't konw how you might be able to do it.

So I can't just copy all the files?

I suppose it's designed for specific stuff like x32 x63 XP Windows 7 OSX and all that

You should use the .msi installer to install the game on the new computer, then copy the Content.ggpk file across into the install folder.

If you just copy files across you may end up missing some dependencies and having the game crash on startup.

wtb portable version that comes as a zip file with all dependencies... just add your own content pack and go.

Many computers at various places don't let you install stuff as such, but they will let you run programs that don't require installs or registry edits.

I'm a strong believer that the registry is evil and that developers should be able to produce a modularized version of their software, with everything the software needs contained in its own folder.

I run all my online games without installation (to keep the updated content), so Path of Exile should work from a portable drive as well. The only thing you'll need to install on the different machine is Open AL and (if needed), update DirectX from the Redist directory.

But you really do need Open AL installed in order for the game to run.
Could we somehow use Virtual Machine/OS software to go about making it completely portable?

Like, install it on a computer we have Admin priviledges on, then take a snapshot of that system and run it in a VM on another computer from a USB drive?

Unholy F'in Necro!
All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.
I don't really understand the problem with necroing when it comes to a question I would already ask anyway.

I figure it would save space to some extent and provide a background for what I'm talking as is.

This thread and what I posted is completely related to that.

So, what's the problem with necroing when it's being done in this way?
