Failed to initialize sound driver

Since this sunday, without any system changes, PoE is unable to initialize the sound driver, resulting in not having ingame sound.
My sound works fine in any other application or game. Another weird thing is that during cutscene's and the grinding gear starup screen sound works fine. I am using Voicemeeter for my audio setup caus i am a parttime streamer and need to controle sound output :-) What i have found on reddit post etc.. is to uninstall stuff like nvidia audio drivers en Asus standard audio software, which i did, with zero result. I hope anyone can help me with this, caus i would like to stream PoE but kinda piontless with no game sound :-( Dernier bump le 20 mars 2019 à 12:21:58

I'm having the exact same issue and also since this Sunday, this was the e-mail I send to support before getting a reply that they are currently not offering technical support and instead to post on this forum...

Same Issue here.
Weird is though, i use to have a logitech usb headset, which, wenn plugged in, works. I also see a list of sound outputs i can select, as long as the usb headset is plugged in, but as soon as i select one, POE says Failed to initialise sound driver. Reverting back to logitech USB output does not give me my sound back, i have to restart game to have sound again over the usb headset. When i not have the usb headset plugged in, i get no device found. Intro gears and cutscenes work, as any other game I also tried all the things posted before and in different forums/reddits, it does not resolve the issue. On my laptop it works, either analog output over jack or laptop speakers. Seeing this error do have quite some people, even dating back to 2014, it might be a longer standing issue, or something slipped back in with a patch, fixed a while ago, because i used to have analog sound on my rig before, playing poe with way better sound than with the usb headset.. Please GGG, look into this issue in 2019. Mobo is an MSI Z730 Gaming Pro CARBON, using internal sound card and MSI realtek drivers. |

I've had this issue and it seems like my headset is causing the issue. If you're the type that accidentally rips the usb cord out of the computer (like me) when you turn your chair to leave your station, then you are probably having a similar issue. The drivers may be hung up and reinserting the USB to your headset should fix the problem. It did for me.

I've got the same issue and reason was myself.
I set launch param as --nosound whitch turn off auido in game and succesfully forgot about that. Probably you have the same situation, check it. |
