Necromancer build help (physical defence)

I'm a relative new player (playing for 4 months) and I made my own necromancer build.
Surpisingly, it works pretty well: the damage is good, my survival vs elemental is good.
But I have problems surviving physical damage. Does anybody have suggestions?

My stats (at lvl 94):

- 6905 life
- 959 ES
- Res all: 75%
- Res chaos: 19%
- Armour: 396 (3% reduction)
- Evasion: 702 (8% chance)
- Block: 18%

My build is a big army:
- 9 zombies
- 11 skeletons (+40 vaal skeletons if needed)
- 4 specters (solar guards)
- 1 fire golem
- 1 animated guardian (leer mask, undying staff and victario boots)

Would improving block be a good option? I could grab the staff block talents (12% total), get a rumi flask (20%) for 50% block.

Or other ideas?

I would definitely improve your block.

Some options are:
☼ Switch to The advancing fortress and lioneye's remorse (or the surrender if you can afford it)
☼ Get some reckless defense jewels and go with Ahns contempt and a Belt of the Deceiver
☼ USE BONE OFFERING with mistress of sacrifice on ascendancy (you would have to change to this one since you don't have it)
☼ Stone of Lazhwar for spells
☼ Rumi's concoction

You'll lose some dps and might have to pick up some resists elsewhere but it massively improves survivability.

Any combo of these is good. You don't need to do all of them as that'd be overkill.

I see you´re using staff but you should consider taking Mind over Matter.

- get Essence worm ring (Hatred)
- drop purity aura

On top of that you can upgrade your chance to block.

- Switching weapons: I really would like to keep using Femur, both as a 6-link for my skeletons and because of all bonus it gives for all my minions

- Bone offering: that would add 17% block, that is good, thanks!

- MoM: I only have 1080 mana. I think that is a bit low for MoM? Also, loosing the purity aura would be a major problem, since it gives 27% res all (not to mention switching a ring for Essence worm also means I loose more resist). I'm not sure how to cap my resists without purity of elements.

Maybe I should drop 1 specter. Then I can get either another chest or other shoes?

MoM + Lavianga's Wisdom is a really cheap way to get around 1.4k extra EHP if you can free the mana up. If you got Lavianga's Wisdom up at the right times so you can keep casting skeletons even when OOM, in theory it's not really necessary to have a mana ratio of 7:3. Also, the mana nodes behind MoM give a ton of mana all by themselves. I used to go very ham on MoM before really doing the math and concluding it's not worth the ham, but it's still a lot of cheap EHP if you don't overinvest.

Sure you can keep the staff and still upgrade your block chance.

- Bone offering + 17% block
- The Whirling the barrier passive - 12% block
= 47% chance to block

+ there are other possibilities hot to improve it futher

- Elder gloves up to 5% + master craft 1-2%
- The Anvil amulet 8% chance to block (+life/mana on block) any amulet with the block corruption 4-5%
(the corrupted Anvil up to 13% !)
- Rumi's Concoction - up to 20% block (temporary though)
- Reckless Defence jewels etc

Having both block and spell block is a bit harder but nothing impossible with things such as Stone of Lazhwar (or shaper amulet), Reckless Defence and Bone offering

You can keep both shoes and body but change the unset ring for two-stone ring (you will save one socket bcos of removed purity aura) and/or get other gloves/amulet/jewels depending on the blocking setup.

Taking the Inspiration node behind the MoM will give you nice amount. You can also get an extra mana from other nodes and or items to boost your total EHP.

Btw Zorajin was talking about Lavianga's Spirit (not wisdom) but this mana flask is not really needed here.
