Ho to remove skill spam ?

I use a gaming mouse with 12 tumbs buttons.

They emule the keypad of my keyboard so basicaly when I press shift + keyboard click it start the auto cast feature. So I often get stuck in a WW blade spam and it get me killed. Or totem spamming.

Is there any way to simply prevent the auto cast feature in PoE ?

it get anoying for me to press escape every time to stop the spam.

Auto cast feature, I haven't heard of one? you press a skill, it casts that skill. It doesn't spam it unless your macro is weird

There is no "auto cast feature" in POE per se. You may be referring to what Multistrike Support is doing to you.

It's not immediately clear to many new players that "Skills Repeat X Additional Times" can be seen as a downside, as it forces your character to perform the skill x more times without the option of canceling them.

You can stop Reave from "auto cast"ing by removing the Multistrike Support from your skill linkup. You can then replace it with some other Support, such as Added Fire Damage Support or Chance to Bleed Support.

Whirling Blades has kind of a similar but different issue. It will continue to execute until the game server senses buttonRelease. So, in theory, you should be able to control your character very well simply by tapping very quickly and being sure not to have the button held down for too long. It is annoying to remember though, sometimes, and if your Attack Speed is far too high, you sometimes have no choice but to Whirling Blades twice or more. There have been some other complaints about this, but not much in the way of solutions.

If the above two things don't address your issues, then it's probably not a Path of Exile problem, but a problem with your mouse itself. You'd want to look at the manual for your mouse for that.

Bind one of your skill to one of your numbpad key then press and hold shift + press that skill then release both keys, voila that skill will now spam itself forever untill your out of mana (or untill you press escape).


Its the same feature that diablo 3 have exept in D3 it won't stop if you press escape.

Now mY problem is that my mouse use the numpad numbers so I accidently press that combination just by trying to clear maps.

I followed your instructions exactly and nothing happens. In fact Shift + NumPad 5 doesn't even use the skill (NumPad 5 uses the skill exactly once).

It definitely sounds like an issue with your mouse. Check your mouse's manuals for how to turn it off.

You must do something wrong since it work with my numpad (not only with my mouse). You have numlock on ?

To be sure it wasn't my mouse I have re-created it with frost bolt on numbpad 1.

Try this, hold the numpad then hold shift and release at same time. It work like 9 times out of 10 for me.
