How does Pierce works in this game?

I get the basic info that Arrow can pierce along its path (I can't really tell with Caustic Arrow though). What happen when you have Chain support gem on it? The Pierce stops when the Chain stops? So if Chain jumps 2 target, Pierce stops after hitting 2 targets?

Skills like Spark benefit from Pierce because it keeps bouncing on the screen right?

Is this a very beneficial nodes to invest in?

Just wondering, do you know about the PoE wiki? You've been asking many questions lately, pretty much all of which are answered there.

Pierce | Projectiles

Once you read these two pages and there is still something you're unsure about, feel free to ask.

Does this game have different proc chance for different skills? Usually in diablo, aoe skills don't proc as often. I don't see proc chance listed in the skill gems page. Piercing tends to have less proc chance too but I am not sure if this is how this game works.

I posted here because I have a Quiver with +1 pierce. I am using Caustic Arrow and I can barely tell the piercing effect. Maybe the projectile hit box is too small to see it. Then I switch to Chain support gem and I am not sure how Pierce works with Chain gem.

This game used to have chance to Pierce, but now Piercing is guaranteed, so the only limit is number of targets pierceable (so, +1 pierce means a projectile will go through enemy 1, and then hit enemy 2 and stop).

what do you mean proc chance? We have "Projectiles Pierce x additional Targets" here, so for each target the chance is either 100% or 0%. Have you read the article Abdiel linked for you?
IGN: Eric_Lindros
CET: Timezone
CA targets the ground you target, unlike other Attacks where the arrow travel further after your mouse cursor.

There are some rules about chaining and piercing. A projectile that pierce can't chain for example, but if the max number of pierced targets have reached, the additional target will cause chain.

Proc coefficient was in Diablo 3 and Marvel heroes Online. If I understand correctly, it means:

If a single target hitting skill has 100% proc chance, then if you have 50% chance to gain Frenzy on Hit, then you gain Frenzy at 50% chance whenever you land a hit.

If a multi-hit skills like Ball of Lightning has 50% proc chance, then if you have 50% chance to gain Frenzy on Hit, then you only gain Frenzy 25% of the time when Ball of Lightning hits (reason is Ball of Lightning hits many times and aoe). This is to balance out the fact that aoe hits more targets.

I have a feeling this game doesn't have proc chance because aoe skills are still proc like crazy in comparison to single target hitting skill. Reason is this game is mostly all about AoE!!!! lol

No, there is no such thing in PoE. If something has an X% chance to occur on hit, then every hit has the same X% chance to cause that effect. It does not matter whether you hit one target, many targets at the same time, many targets in quick succession, or the same target many times in quick succession.

Note, however, that some on-hit effects have their own built-in cooldowns or limitations. (E.g. Frenzy can only generate one frenzy charge per attack, even if you hit multiple enemies.)

This game is so AoE!!! lol

By the way, what is the point of Fork support? I tried it but I am not feeling it. What skills fit well with Fork?

Spark is good with fork because it doubles the number of projectiles - something that's not super useful with most skills. It's not super useful now given spark's low duration though. But spark+fork totems used to be all the rage.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:
