How is leap slam vs whirling blades
I haven't used leap slam much except during some leveling. Whirling blades is great but you get stuck on the tiniest things on maps which is getting me killed alot since I changed my build. Something is shooting me from off screen or close to being off my screen, I will whirl towards the enemy only to get stopped by a tiny little pebble or some crap and since 95% of my sustain comes from attacking, I end up dying because my char is 2 stupid to whirl around it. Leap slam does jump over objects and even to higher or lower levels but its speed is much slower from when I was using it during leveling.

" Leap slam has different issues. Target lock can make you accidentally go somewhere you didn't intend to (but I guess that is true for many skills). It has its own base attack speed, ignoring the weapon base attack speed but it does use the IAS mod on the weapon. It can be stopped by obstacles as well but usually they are more obvious obstacles. Lightning warp for the win. Thanks for all the fish!

Hmm... so "target locking" is the problem with leap slam. That explains a lot of the problem when trying to leap when in boss fights with adds or trying to jump out of harms way when opening a strong box. Leap Slam is shit may times as I'll be pointing at a specific spot I want to leap to but LS has my exile going in a different direction sometimes (extremely frustrating). Other times LS is being blocked by some kind of line-of-sight problem (oh there's a pebble in the way) and instead of jumping in the direction of the pointer the exile just jumps straight up and down without moving. That is totally worthless and a huge problem in mob and boss fights (especially Izaro) where maximum kiting mobility is of the utmost importance. I much prefer Whirling Blades as it's more consistent in moving at the drawback of not being able to jump up or down ledges or over small obstacles and gaps. Finally, Leap Slam really amplifies the laginess of PoE server/client netsync in that even on a fully cleared map (all creatures are dead) LS is extremely not smooth. I have a Scion with 60% move speed and LSing is fast (nice) but extremely erratic (not nice) in that there are may times of delays in jumping. I find high level Lightning Warp + Reduced Duration to be much smoother even though it's not quite as fast as my 60% speed leaper.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

Whirling Blade is better then Leap slam if you are just traveling without shits getting in your way because your character won't move a bit forward before using WB unlike Leap Slam and shield charge.
It also ignores all movement and attack speed penalty while traveling so WB is perfect for getting away quickly from say the elder cone-of-sucking-the-shit-out-of-you attack. "The launch day went quite well with just a few small hotfixes to address minor problems."

" That's where Attack-In-Place key comes in, all you need to do is holding it down all the time while playing with movements like LS or SC. @OP: Best movement skill in the game is Lightning Warp, it's also hardest to use (quite costly in 3L). Now, that I'm playing 2H melee build, I have to say that Leap Slam is second best MS there is (if you can get enough AS to make it fast). Both are blocked by same stuff, both can bypass same stuff (f.e. bars in Shrine map). LW is winner because much further reach than LS. Whirling Blades is 3rd best, but as others said, it likes to get stuck on every pebble you can find (LS does no such thing). Shield Charge is just bad and that fire-whatever thingy with 3 charges should not exist at all. Dernière édition par peetrscz#2701, le 16 avr. 2018 à 11:10:03

Another thing about WB that wasn't brought up, and that sucks, is its hit box. Super teeny tiny, no bigger than your character. If you use fortify linked to WB and miss a mob by 1/4 of a inch, no fortify. Really annoying.

" It also works in reverse. If you have a pack in front of you, you can WB through them and get fortify. But you will have to leap slam INSIDE. |

Leap Slam - cross gaps and bars. can fortify. takes some support to get the most out of speed-wise
Lightning Warp - cross gaps and bars. no fortify. speed is absolute shit without alot of support by maxed gems Whirling Blades - very quick / great for being mobile around slow effects. can fortify. sticks on pebbles (know the terrain you are in). doubletap to go to cursor then back to where you were (this takes getting used to not doing on accident once your atk speed is high/twitchy, but is great for maxing things like power charge on crit) Shield Charge - can fortify. sticks on pebbles. shields are generally a good option to equip anyways. has a more noticeable "stop/delay" at the end of the animation/doesn't feel as fluid as whirling or leap Flame Dash - cross gaps and bars. no fortify. has 3 "charges" for absolutely no reason at all. for some reason I find it super clunky to use (I often hold attack in place when using other move skill and this one out of all of them makes me completely not use the skill if you are targeting outside its range) |

" And that is exactly why those 2 skills are clunky and weird to use. "The launch day went quite well with just a few small hotfixes to address minor problems."
