Unconnected skill tree? (Noob question)

Hey Exiles, ive been watching Datmodz and really liked his most recent build, when i was looking at his Path of building i noticed that his skill nodes werent connected to the main circle in anyway when you track his skill node path back to where he started, im just wondering how thats achieved, i thought that your path of skill nodes as you level have to path off of the main circle?

Link to his scions build just as an FYI, youll see his main path of skill nodes are not connected to the main circle in the beginning, probably a noob question but hey, im a noob!

You can see he took 8 skill nodes off to the right where the Dex tree starts, but, then his main skill path is not connected, the closest it gets back to the main center circle is by Path of Warrior?

He has specced into Path of the Marauder, which allows him to allocate points from the Marauder's starting position on the tree in addition to the Scion's starting position on the tree.

And by specced into it you mean via the Ascendancy tree? So basically you build normally until you spec into that, then go back and Orb of Regret out of the things you dont want from early on before you can get that Ascendancy?

Yep, that's the ticket!

There's a number of quests which offer refund points as their quest reward. If you're a bit tight on currency it can be worth going through them quickly to keep your currency for something else.

Awesome, thank you!! Makes a lot more sense now, have never played a Scion so i didnt know they get that option with their ascendancy into marauder.

All of the "Path of ________" options grant that for the relevant starting location.

The Scion is a bit 'different', but I've had a lot of fun playing Scion builds. :)
