Disabling weather effects for the game

Hello boys.

Not sure if GGG will read this.. or even consider it. But here it goes.
I have been playing POE for a decent chunk of time now, there has been some pretty nice updates, tweaks and stuff. But one thing really upsets me. POE is being developed for good computers.
I have a 5 year old pc, and it's quite expensive to build your own pc here in south america. Specially if you have kids, can't really "waste" money into something you don't really use that much.
That's my reason for it.

I'd like to ask GGG to implement an option in the Video options menu, Disable weather effect (Rain, sandstorm..) and disable other players MTX in towns. (Some of them have TOO MANY particles.. that every time i go into a city my pc laaaags). and an option to make the water not so fancy.

I mean.. I like fancy graphics, but.. I LOVE to be able to play without dying to an FPS drop, or pc freeze due too many particles flying around.

I know that there is an option to make Texture graphics lower inside of the POE folder. But that does not affects the weather effects/Ocean water..

I mean.. I don't mind if I play in a low res.. being able to really play the game and enjoy it without FPS drops and lags.. will enhance not only my experience.. But many other people.

Just ask in any global chat "How does your POE run? would you like to disable weather effects and players MTX in town?" There will be loads of yes.


So.. thank you for understanding, I've been supporting this game for a quite now.. Just wish that GGG actually read this and opt to implement it sometime.

weather effects disabling is a reasonable request
but disabling MtX will probably never happen.

its reasonable but i doubt it will happen. they dont allow turning off shadows unless you use directx9,which seems pretty stupid stupid as well.
sure they made "cool" effects and they look good,but those 2 things can improve the performance alot and poe is not very well optimized.

But weather effects are really huge.. by disabling it, it would solve a lot of problems.

I'm actually on the camp against disabling MtX. when your MtX are only to look good, it's only normal to want to show off. else why bother even buying them?

Iknow that it's to support the game but be honest, how many of you would just give them money for no MtX in return, and of those who would donate money freely, would you have donated as much as you have.

I probably would have donated money, maybe 30-60$ one time maybe a tenner for an expansion. not the 400$+ that I have spent over 4 years.

Yep.. I also like to show off some of my MTX haha.

But this weather thing.. must get in the hands of the big boys in GGG. WE NEED IT!

Weather effects aren't the worst. They even seem to perform better than they used to. Some leagues ago I really had to avoid rain maps, but now it's mostly fine.

What is actually bad is frost ground / lightning ground. I hope they will soon make a new version of these like they did with the fire ground so that they don't impact FPS so much anymore...

Ikr..? When I used to enter the imperial gardens my pc used to fry. Holly shit.
Now it's better.. but yet, weather effects are what kills me

ya those might be worse for some ppl,but its very easy to allow turning off shadows/weather compared to ground effects from mods.
its an easy thing that could imporve that game for ppl.
the weather is nice,but it really doest add up anything to gameplay while its important to see the ground effects.

Ground effects are needed. Weather effects are not. Just some fancy shenanigans that slows most of the low end computers..
I mean, I'm playing in my 5y old Macbook pro. It can handle most of the games with ease..
PUBg, Fortnite, Dota 2, Assassins Creed, Paladins.. hell.. it even runs Diablo 3 Smoothly.

All i wish is that we can turn this god damn weather effects off.
