Forum posts and proper HTML formatting for us lazy readers

I'll directly start by saying I'm a "filthy casual" PoE player and a "lazy SOB" when it comes to interacting with PoE posts. Now that I've said that it is time for all of us to get with modern 21st century forum posting practices and quit being sloppy posters, both here in the PoE forums or any other forums that allow for some HTML formatting tags to be embedded into our posts for easier reading and most importantly, easy one-click to use hyperlinks. I admit it, I hate having to copy an HTLM link, make a new tab, and then past the link into the address line in my Vivaldi browser (which by the way, is hands down the best browser created by former Opera coders).

Ok, so what do I want everyone posting to do to make their posts easy to read and with one-click links (if there are any in your post)? First, I will direct you to read 2 old PoE posts that cover 99% of all that you need to know to be able to post in the 21st century and not look 20th century outdated. They are:

List of formatting tags that work and do not work on the forums
Color - Give the Forums a little Colour

plus this for getting the RGB hex code of any color: HTML Color Picker

Bookmark these so you can refer to them when posting. As you can see by my good use of forum post formatting all 3 are easy to read and are easy to use 1-click links.

Now that you have info on proper use I'll site an example:

In another thread of mine I was talking about having difficulty in the Atlas - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1903951/page/6

It boiled down to I was told to pick better gear, as if I were hand selected gear. I was also told since I play self-found, no trading or buying, POE may not be for me.

However, in post #2 of this thread - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1905718/page/1 Several people saying drops are fine for the casual player.

Apologies to Sahdrak as I'm not singling him out personally but just using his thread as an example of many, many threads where the ugly HTML address is there in it's raw fugly form and to go to that link we have to copy/paste it into a new tab.

As Coldet stated way back in 2012 just use caution to not overuse colors in any post.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, HTML formatting codes do not work in our signature line(s). An unfortunate oversight by the programmers of the forum BBS software that GGG is using.
