Chat Muted

Hi,

Apparently I got IP muted for some reason. Me and my partner can't speak in chat whatsoever. We both haven't played for a while and had no issues in Breach. Neither one of us got a message either.
Not really motivated to play atm. If I wanted to play selffound I would have chosen the option. :(

IP address can't be muted, it's applied to the account.
The only IP related things the game dose is one security related (your ip changes your account is locked)
The other is a blanket IP ban (which has not been done in years)

Any idea why both me and my partner can't speak in chat then? We both haven't played in a while. We can't whisper anyone either. Seems abit to coincidental.

I checked my "Client" chat logs and there's no "muted" notification message. I hope it is just a bug or blanket IP chat mute.

I think I only chatted 7-9 sentences this league and the contents of the first 5 were joking about the "I lost etc" due to DC. And the last 2-4 were asking if anyone thought normal lab was as hard as uber lab. I don't think any of those warrant a chat mute. Plus, I think I was muted when I posted them.

This all leads me to believe it could be an IP blanket chat mute affecting both of us or some sort of bug? If you search "PoE can't chat" you'll find there have been bugs in the past that caused chat mutes.

I am from the UK. As far as I know I'm muted from the start of the league. Tried linking items to party I levelled with and they couldn't see it from low level onwards. Zero chance I got muted for something I said ingame, haven't played in a month or so, and was fine at the end of breach.

I guess it's some sort of auto mute, just wish they would correct it. It's unplayable for me right now. Can't trade. Kinda a big deal first couple days of the league.

Well,i joined master/challenge channel today,and from what i see,this topic will most likely become quite popular,that or the channel will become the second 5055.

Granted,this does not seem to be that sort of an issue.

@OP: If you have been particularly articulate with insults on chat channels (esp those that were purpose-created) and assuming enough people have reported you,this could just as well be a perma account mute,tho i personally have never heard of it happening. I have heard of people getting muted for several days,maybe a week or so,but never for months. And afaik,you supposedly probably most likely maybe should still be able to whisper. I mean if you mute someone permanently in a game like this,why not just flat out ban the account since they might as well just do that at that point.

I'd send a message to support,tho since league just started and they still apparently had backlogs from Breach,it could be a while.

It's not related to chatting and getting muted. This is literally just outta the blue. It's just messed up it's the start of the league and this happens. Kinda important you are able to whisper people. Mad e a support ticket like 24h ago and zero response. Kinda losing motivation to keep playing.

Can you two go to your "Client" text file in your "Programs 86x" folder and press "CTRL + F" and type "mute". Is there a PM from an administrator notifying you why you were muted?

The reason I'm led to believe it is a bug is because for me I never received a message notifying me, nor an email.

Same here man, no email or message or anything. Like I said. I quit breach a month ago. Came back for new league and was muted from the start of it. No notification or anything. I checked the file you referred too, and no message found relating me being muted.
