Does Zombies + Poison work with chaos/dot passives in tree?

Hey mates

I'm designing a build based on zombies and skeletons which poison enemies,and increase that damage further by taking chaos damage passives(or that's the plan at least).But I got into doubt - would these chaos passives affect only my damage,not poison caused by minions?

It works.

You might want to take a look at United in Dream builds for something similar.
Your passives only benefit you unless they say they affect minions.

the only nodes on the tree that effect your minions have the word "minion" in them.

Well,maybe I didn't pointed that clearly enough.
I know to affect minions in any way a passive must explicitly say "minions <something>".So I'm aware that all increased chaos damage passives won't affect them directly.
But that's not the point of my question - I wonder if poison caused by any source,be it my hit or of my zombies,can be scaled with increased chaos damage and increased damage over time.
That page in PoE wiki seems to confirm Sentilial's version,found it after creation of this topic.
minions are a separate entity from you this means every aspect of them is governed by those minion stats and not your stats (with duration being an exception as it governs how long temporary minion spells stay around)


the initial hit? minion damage
the poison? minion damage


in a sense poison minion builds are no different from normal minion builds . use minion damage gem . stack increased minion damage , profit.

the only things that scale minions are the supports gems they get , the passives they get and any sort of indirect effect usually with the allies tag or curse tag

such as auras with commander of darkness
or curses by simple fact that a cursed enemy takes more damage from all sources not just minions


thus something like this could be considered optimized for poison minions

I was being way too vague with my answer. I should've been more elaborate; reading this at 7 AM in the morning was not a good idea. I apologize.

The Wiki listing is a bit weird. You have to read it carefully.

It means that if your Minions somehow had a source that gave it poison, anything that affects MINION DAMAGE affects the Minion's poison also.

The other Exiles are all correct. Passive Trees only affect you, unless specified (and Duration).
