First Bad Cus Serv Experience/Warning About how you Purchase Points

So, I really hate to do this as GGG in the past has always had amazing customer service, but not only am I mad about the whole situation, but I'm really confused by GGG decisions here.

Even if you dont care to read the whole situation here, I just want to make people aware of something I couldnt find anywhere in the ToS or in their recent forum post about being able to put point packs towards supporter packs.

Long story short, If you buy any points not directly from this website, you cant put them towards a supporter pack and customer service will do nothing to help you even for equivalent dollar to points value.

I want to preface this by saying I didnt want anything extra, or some sort of compensation, or anything of that nature, i simply wanted an equivalent exchange which is 10pts = $1

So, here we go:

I received 2 amazon gift cards at $50 each, $100 total, from the holidays. I wanted to use these for a point pack from amazon so that I could put this towards a Hydra supporter pack. Now according to the Upgrading Supporter Packs post,

So I made an assumption here, and that was my mistake. I figured since i literally just bought the points and I cant use the gift cards directly on this website, all I would have to do is contact Support and they could help me sort it out. Again this is because of how amazing their support has been in the past. So again, my mistake, fine.

Now, i bought a points pack, According to GGG's Points Pack Announcement I should be able to put those points towards the Hydra Supporter pack and up to 80%, I would have been fine with this. Did this happen though? No, and again Customer Service is not willing to help at all.

So thats basically the situation in a nutshell, heres the "Math" on the deal.

The pack i bought off of Amazon was $100 and gave me 1065 points which is more than $1-10points. The Hydra Supporter Pack is Normally $110 but i had some extra point packs i bought on Nov 18th when the Breachlord supporter packs came out, so the Hydra Supporter pack is only $70 and comes with 650 points. If i pay the $70 that leaves $30 for 300 points and I had 29 points before the purchase.

650 + 300 + 29 = 979. I suggested this solution because again, im not trying to get extra points, I just want an equivalent exchange. This is exactly the same cost as it would have been if i paid the $100 directly to this site.

Now, again they dont want you to be able to buy supporter packs with points directly, so even if i cant outright get the Hydra Pack, why not apply a portion of the points up to 80% of the value as GGG stated you can?

So, 80% of the value of the Hydra Pack is $88, leaving $12 for the final payment. Ok, so if i had 29 points to start with and the pack was already discounted to $70 from previous purchases, I only need $58 of points to bring the Hydra Pack to 20% or $12. Thats 29 + 580 = 609. The Hydra Pack gives you an equivalent amount of points per dollar minus 50points. So if i spend the remaining $12, thats (609 + 120) - 50 = 679 points. This would also leave me with a remaining $30 to buy 300points, again putting me at 979 points in total after the $100.

I honestly just dont understand why they were unwilling to do this. Its not asking for anything extra. I dont know if maybe they think its too hard to do the calculations like this because you can literally make a spreadsheet in like 20 minutes to handle the calculation for anyone who runs into this problem.

The other funny thing about this is one of the reps tried to tell me that I couldnt buy the Hydra supporter Pack because my previous points that I bought on Nov 18th went to the Breachlord Supporter Pack. But I bought the Breachlord Supporter Pack outright and bought another $40 after the fact. The best part of that was the Hydra Supporter Pack was already discounted to $70 from $110 before this whole thing started, lol. I sent him this screenshot after his response.



So basically after 2 days of getting misinformation and responses that made it obvious GGG Reps werent even paying attention I contacted Amazon and in literally 2 minutes the Amazon Rep was like "Sure we can refund that for you, sorry about the trouble. Check your Amazon account balance in 1 hour, if you dont see your funds call us back. 1 Hour later, got my money back.

For some reason apparently GGG didnt want my money, I really dont understand this.

*Bleh* Im glad to get that out of me, hope no one else has to go through this even though im sure it will happen again. I couldnt find anywhere that actually warned you about trying to make a purchase like this. If im wrong, please post the location because if it exists i completely missed it.

So you fucked up badly, confused yourself and GGG with your faulty logic and then to top it off you go to amazon to get a refund on points purchased (basically a charge back...which can result in a ban)

Confused myself, faulty logic? explain how please. Please provide the location in which it tells you that you cant do this.

Also GGG are the ones who suggested i contact Amazon for a refund, so doubt theyre gonna ban me for their own suggestion.

and i really hope you didn't just risk your account by letting amazon do a charge back.

edit: didn't see the posts above, if ggg approved the chargeback it's probably alright

edit2: if i think twice about it, if somebody is so deperate to buy amazon gift cards and these gift cards are used to buy goods at another company, amazon will keep a huge chunk of the value as a compensation that somebody was using "their services".

Im guessing by this you didnt actually read the post, especially considering you said "if somebody is so desperate to buy amazon gift cards" when one of the first things i said was I got them as gifts from the holidays.

if you bought point packs they partly (80%) count towards your supporter packs but you have to eventually buy the supporter packs with real money, not some gift cards where amazon doesn't transfer the whole amount over to ggg.

uhm, that's a personal issue. i think that amazon is a good thing for the consumer but not for the people working there as well as for capitalism which can't deal with innovations growing to dimensions amazon did to recently.

as for gift cards: let's say, people who know me don't give me gift cards anymore.
