Standoff with tier 7 boss
Playing a level 7 Terrace map:
![]() The zone was smooth sailing and then I got to the map boss: ![]() After I killed over 200 Devourers of large, small, and rare types and the boss Sallazzang always able to consume corpses to heal up I finally had to throw in the towel and quit. Even cornering it with my 3 fire totems and constant pounding with my MO and FP that didn't help. I wasn't in danger of dieing so long as I kept killing to get life leach and refill my life flasks but that meant just more corpses for the boss to heal up with too. I guess I needed a curse I didn't have. Oh well, at least I was tanky enough to take the barrage of devourer fire balls. Stalemate. I never had that happen until now. Anyone else get in a situation like this? "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. Unlikely I always had enough DPS before he even remotely heals in most cases if you don't have the DPS to do so just try to ignore the devourers that's what most people do if they don't have the amount of DPS.

I think only time I had something remotely similar was with that Invasion Siren Boss with Soul Eater.
Anyway... You could have go back to base for Flammability or maybe Flesh Offering for more DPS or get rid of the corpses, but what I really wonder is: How do you have no DPS <AND> no life? Is this a no skill points challenge? :-P |

" I was about to say the same thing. Arrowneous you have abyssal cry, use it tactically and the boss wont heal shit. Use spell totem with flesh offering etc combinations if you want also. You wont lose anything by skipping it honestly. Inundated with cockroaches, I am

It's almost like a DPS check or something...

" Yeah, Sallazzang really is a sort of just a pure "DPS check." I've never seen anyone actually demonstrate any need for SKILL to fight him. Which makes him, sadly, one of the most boring fights, in spite of having some pretty interesting mechanics, and residing in a map that, by now, is actually pretty fun to do! (looks nice, interesting variety, and as of 2.2, made pretty linear) He's definitely on the list of bosses that should be reworked so that there's more an emphasis on actual playing smart, rather than just being a high enough DPS build to burst it down in 2 seconds. E.g, more max life (I'd probably push him up to 1 million or so) fewer side-spawns, less life recovered from devouring, (or perhaps prevented from devouring if being damaged) and also making him deal MORE direct damage to you. Or perhaps just re-arranging the arena so that it's wider and more open (think Orchard) and making the devourers there refuse to ever spawn in close range. (so it's easier to avoid accidentally killing them) Rufalius, hybrid Aura/Arc/Mana Guardian | Hemorae, TS Raider | Wuru, Ele Hit Wand Trickster

There are three main ways to deal with Sallazang:
1) dps. just dps Sallazang down before the fight can get underway properly. This is the easiest way. 2) tankiness. Just focus on killing Sallazang and tank the devourers until the boss dies. You don't need as much dps that way. Tanking devourers is not recommended though usually. 3) Corpse management. Freezing all the Devourers is pretty much impossible unless you have enough dps to just use option 1. But there are other ways to destroy/consume the corpses before Sallazang can. eg: Pyre. eg: Devouring totem. etc... There are other cool ways as well, though. Infinite devourer spawn just screams 'dominating blow'. Conversion trap is similar, but doesn't even leave a corpse. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Dernière édition par dudiobugtron#4663, le 29 mai 2016 à 19:50:39

Actually ive went into this boss one time with just short of having enough to down him once i started killing the devos.. got him to halfway and his regen was exactly what my damage was pretty much.. So after a bit i finally said ok. Left the map, grabbed one of my DD gems, Went back in and popped that and wha la. Boss down. Theres also Abyssal Cry which works. Theres a couple ways but the point is he is regening from the dead on the ground.. Get rid of the dead or draw him away from them and he slows or stops the regen. Anything that gets rid of the corpses will make him not regen basically.
