"10% chance to get a power charge on kill" not working (Ancestral Bond)

I'm using this talisman , and I'm getting a powercharge once every 50-100 kill, and I've tested it in several different maps and different acts.

I cleared an entire Grotto map (at least a couple hundred monsters) without gaining a single power charge.

I'm thinking it might have something to do with Ancestral Bond, since I don't deal damage myself, and thus it might technically not count it as my kills?

Either way, I'm now stuck with a very expensive, very useless amulet and am hoping for a fix.

Any kills you get are because of a bug with damage over time. The totem is getting the kills, not you. So the totem gets the charges up to it's max of zero. When a monster dies to damage over time after the totem is gone, the game currently has no choice but to credit you with the kill. Someday they may fix this because it's considered a minor bug.
