are there some ways to show the total player numbers of POE?

be interested that the effect of POE 2.0

it would be worth celebrating if more and more players have knowed and like to play POE
I would like to know too. The steam numbers are somewhat off and the methods people use to get the data are always lacking in something.

But I can almost guarantee that we have more players know that before the expansion. Evertime I log in I get send to global 7-8-9 which never happened to me before.

^ Not sure how many player outside of stream but this seems pretty low?

And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
Never understood why this number was so important to some people while also being important enough to GGG to hide it from them.
they had a /players command but removed it.

the official reason was that with changes to servers at that time it would no longer work but letting players know about the numbers is also opening up possible misinterpretations.

for example, some players would take the shrinking numbers as a proof of the negative effect of certain design changes when the real reason maybe is a holiday season in europe or the start of another popular game many poe players participate.

No one i play with uses global at all. So using channel numbers as a guide means nothing.

One thing to note too... there's no subscription fee so the number is directly related to income. 90% of the players could quit and if it were the right 90% GGG's income wouldn't be cut at all.

( '%' being used to indicate a number I just made up, rather than part of a hypothetical 100).

Actually, global # is a pretty darned good indicator of how many newer players are playing the game. Obviously most experienced players who don't have nostalgia for Barrens chat don't bother with it but the number is definitely not meaningless.

I remember vaguely that it was stated roughly 1/5th of players used steam not too long after 1.0 came out.

If that has gone up, down, or remained the same is anyone's guess.
Keep PoE2 Difficult.
