Flame Dash - distance travelled
Im trying Flame Dash out.
How do i extend the distance travelled with this skill? If i click not so far away the dash is instant, but if i click further away my char runs a bit, then dash for the remaining distance. I want to extend the dash distance without having to dash twice or run a bit first. Is it the base time duration i have to play with? Like use an Increased Duration support gem or take the passive skillnodes that extends skill duration? What are your oppinions on this skill, is whirling blades supperior? I mainly care for the fast movement, damage is just a bonus. I have a lot of fire damage passive nodes so if the 2 skills are similar i guess Flame Dash will do some bonus damage for me. |

I've tried lots of support gems and couldn't figure out how to extend the range. Faster casting lets you move real quick though if you're willing to burn all 3 charges. It's slightly faster than whirling blades if you get enough cast speed but the charges prevent you from just going forever. Personally I wish they'd just reduce the damage drastically and remove the charges on it completely. I'd like to keep up with my buddy's Vaal Reave + Whirling Blades nonsense. He's just too fast for me.

Hmm, strange.
There must be some way to extend the distance range on this thing. Nobode else experimented with this movement skill? Maybe i will change to whirling blades or lightning warp instead then. I really need a fast movement skill. Whirling blades is really good but dont work with wands and speed is based on attack speed not cast speed. Lightning Warp i dont like for some reason. |

If you shift cast it on click (right click) you can travel the max length of the screen.

" That only works if there are gaps between you and the edge of the screen. It will only go it's standard range if you hold position cast unless you're hopping a ledge or something. In those cases this is a very useful technique though. Every Saturday = National Booze n Poe Day

I found a way to extend the dash range, but I don't know if it's working as intended or is a bug, and not really practical to use.
If you hold shift and namelock a target and said target ran off screen (ghosts mainly), pressing the flame dash button without releasing shift or the namelock will instantly teleport you to the target even if it's way beyond what flame dash can go normally. Not sure if you still need line of sight though. |
