Twilight Strand locked?

Hello all.
This may not be a bug, but I can not find any info on it. I have just started playing, have reached Lioneye's Watch and beyond, but have found that I cannot return to the Twilight Strand. The exit from Lioneye's Watch appears on my map, but I cannot interact with it in any way. Is this a bug, or are we locked out from the area? Thanks. It's so Hillock can't be farmed as easily. When you progress to the next difficulty you will start in the Twilight Strand again.

If so, why don´t you put a message in game? It is confusing and seems a bug for a new player like me. Thanks!

"There is (almost) no reason to stay in that area, you gain very little XP there compared to any other part of the game. You can repeatedly farm it once you reach Cruel Difficulty if desired (Farm the Cruel version of the area). The only reason you would want to hang around is if a Vaal Corrupted area spawns.
