Avatar of Fire (Fix It)

Avatar of Fire

Converts 50% of your physical damage to fire.
Converts 50% of your lightning damage to fire.
Converts 50% of your cold damage to fire.
You can't deal non-fire damage.

So what does that mean exactly. More or less it cuts your damage in half and doesn't give you any positives. There is no situation in which this is a good passive.

Lets look at it like this. If you do 10k physical dps and have hatred so 3k cold damage. It then turns it into 6.5k fire damage.

With the introduction of three dragons I feel that this passive is useless and either needs to be changed or removed. I think it originally came out to allow fire witches to use spells like freeze pulse. If you have avatar of fire the %fire increased damage nodes would effect any and all spells. While it was a great idea three dragons has made it pretty obsolete.

Maybe its just me though but I have yet to see one person using it.

Infernal Blow: converts 50% of physical damage to fire.

Avatar of Fire: converts 50% of physical damage to fire.

Avatar of Fire + Infernal Blow = ?

Avatar of Fire Melee Build:
Infernal Blow + Melee Physical Damage + Fire Penetration + Melee Splash + Chance to Ignite + Elemental Proliferation = Screen Rape.

Avatar of Fire Spell Build:
[Insert any cold spell] + Cold To Fire (minimum of level 6) + Fire Penetration + Chance to Ignite + Elemental Proliferation + [insert additional desired support] = Screen Rape.

Avatar of Fire converts 50% of cold damage to fire. Level 6 CTF converts 50% too. This means 100% is converted to fire.

Don't see how you could make this thread if you understand the game and think about your options.

Edit:

You might think that using the element and Three Dragons is more efficient, but think of it this way.

Fire damage is easier to mitigate than the other forms. How? Arctic Armor. Fire damage now does little to no damage to you, ever.

So it would work with cold spells... What about lightning then?

It just seems like they have made something thats barely used ever.
omg you numbers nerds go back where you came from!

More so, you can add huge amounts of base fire damage from things like Added Cold Damage, Added Lightning Damage, and augment your base damage drastically from that.

Additionally, there are items that convert your damage into other forms of damage. I suggest you take a look at the Path of Exile wiki.

LOL!

Edit:

More numbers! :D

Let's say you want to do a self-cast Cold Snap. Crit or RT, doesn't matter. Cold Snap does between 269-404 damage at level 20, before any increases.

Added Lightning Damage adds 13-238 lightning damage at level 20. After Avatar of Fire, this adds 6-119 damage. That's 29.455% of Cold Snap's base damage. That's huge

But let's do a different gem you can maximize. Added Cold Damage adds 88-132 damage at level 20. 100% of this is converted to fire damage with Cold To Fire, which means this adds 32.67% of Cold Snap's base damage. If that isn't most more gooder, I don't know what is.

Numbers, their fun and funny!
