"Kernel Power" Causing crash

After around 10 minutes of play, my system crashes and after looking at event viewer, I found this http://i.imgur.com/rnUWB.png

At first I thought it was soundcard related so I tried the "--softwareaudio" fix, yet this didn't work. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

EDIT: A re install fixed the problem, however if anyone has any insight as too what would cause this, it would be much appreciated.

EDIT2: After playing for a few hours last night without a problem, the bug has returned after around 30 minutes of play.

Your system specs?
Most likely problem is related to your hardware. Test your RAM with Memtest. Also copy the blue screen info here. You can see it by turning of system restore for all disks http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/3187/disable-system-restore-in-windows-7/

Specs are fine, don't have a problem with any other games including Far Cry 3, anyway here they are:

Intel Core i3-2100 @3.1GHz
Radeon HD 6850 1GB DDR5
4GB Ram

I'm having a very similar issue where, consistently, the first time I launch Path of Exile on any given day results in a full fatal crash--i.e. one that bypasses the BSOD entirely (even though I have it set to show it to me) and immediately shuts my system down for 3 seconds; then the system restarts. If I launch PoE after this reboot, it works consistently.

What happens is precisely this: I open PoE, hit "Launch", and I see "Connecting to Server" and it either 1) crashes everything right there, or 2) goes to my character screen and then crashes everything.

The error is Event ID 41, Kernel-Power: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

This is the only game I have this problem with; I've had no other applications result in this happening.

I changed my virtual paging memory to "system managed" (from zero...why it was at zero I have no idea). I rolled back my nVidia driver from the latest (331.65) to a previous (327.23). Neither changed my system's behavior with regard to PoE. I checked the thermals on the graphics card, and they are within acceptable limits; I opened Far Cry 3 and the graphics card ran very hot (101 C) but the game didn't crash or even give me artifacts (I since changed my CPU fan profile and temps inside the case have gone down considerably). Haven't done a memtest yet, but as this happens only with PoE, I doubt it's the memory.

The odd thing (it's probably a coincidence) is that each time this happens, beforehand I will have opened Chrome for email etc, and I close it before launching PoE. I wonder if it's something about a fresh system boot, without opening Chrome or other programs, that PoE likes.

(I just remembered: I also had one instance where I Alt-Tabbed to look up something using Chrome, and then Alt-Tabbed back into PoE...I took two steps with my character and the system crashed in the same way described above. Maybe there's more to the Chrome thing than I thought?)

Anyway, sorry for the book; I wanted to be thorough. Here're my specs:

Win 7 64 Professional
EVGA GTX 660 Ti 3GB SuperClocked
Intel i7-950
12GB DDR3-1600
800-Watt PSU
Don't necro-bump old posts.

As per the Rules of the Support Forum, you need to post your own thread with your own details rather than attaching your problem to someone else's support request.

You can link this thread to your thread if you think the information is useful, but you need your own thread for your own support request.

Edit: also include a dxdiag (in a spoiler tag) so we can properly see all your hardware and drivers.

My apologies. I didn't look at how old the posts were. I also thought that I'd be chastised for posting a new thread when a thread with my topic already existed.
