Quest Reward LMP for witches

If you consider the main spells Arc, Spark, Fireball, Freezing Pulse, Ice Spear, Firestorm, Ice Nova, Power Siphon, and EK. 6 out of those 9 are projectiles, and nearly every witch that uses any of those projectile based spells uses Lesser Multiple Projectiles, or gmp but I'm not advocating gmp's inclusion.

Almost every single witch build revolves around a projectile based main skill. Only the very niche or odd build uses a non projectile based skill as it's main attack, and even then it's likely they still need LMP for their support skill.

I haven't fully leveled a witch in a while, but last I checked Witches never get Lesser multiple Projectiles as a quest reward, yet they get Chance to Flee another dex based gem 5 times, and fork a number of times as well.

While I'm on the topic of quest rewards. It seems rather silly that only 2 classes get Reduce mana, when likely 90% of players need reduce mana at some point.

a definite YES! to this.

I just levelled an additional ranger to get LMP for my witch
Forums are SOOO much fun on patch day!

Casuals play because it's fun, not to achieve any goal unreachable with their resources.
We are playing for the next difficulty, the next keystone, the next item upgrade.
Not to feel better than anyone else.
It is a little odd, especially if a witch is getting Chance to Flee and Fork a bunch of times.
there should be much more gems in the quest reward pool in general imo

I agree with this, I've often just never used it just because I didn't get it as a quest reward and I couldn't be bothered to level another character just for the gem. The skill should be offered to the witch as a quest reward.

I actually asked Chris about this once. I can't recall his direct response but it's to do with the fact that LMP is a dexterity gem and would likely be a bit 'overpowered' to give to raw casters that early. This is why we can mule other characters' rewards and gem finds, I suppose.

I'll put my -1 to this idea.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

I generally agree, but trading aside (imo, people tend to vastly over-price low level non qual quest reward gems) I fail to see the value in running an alt just to circumvent the quest reward pool. So I net a +0 to this idea.

On the other hand, whenever this comes up in discussion, I like to push for a more random pool of reward gems. Will your witch get that LMP when she needs it? Maybe not, maybe she will, or maybe she'll find something just as interesting.

As to this matter specifically: Try rolling up a Shadow. Point for point, they're roughly equal spell casters as Witches, and they have access to most of the reward supports you would ever want to use. If Shadow doesn't get the spells you're looking for, you can get most of them within the first 2-10 minutes of playing a Witch (depending on which spell it is and when it becomes available). Imo, a lot easier than running all the way to Act 2 to get an LMP. This is actually a major part of the reason that my Sporker is a Shadow (but also for a little bit of crit, extra cast speed, and projectile damage).

Perhaps making LMP available later on as a quest reward would be a good idea.
It's a key gem that almost any projectile build needs at least one of. Not giving it as a quest reward doesn't balance anything, it just forces us to trade for it. This achieves nothing but an irritating and unnecessary halt to progression or a nagging feeling of something missing if you push on without it. If getting it early is deemed too strong or too 'dex' and not 'int' enough, then give it later than ranger and shadow.

Attempting to withhold it on the basis of it's attribute alignment is letting misguided logic take the lead ahead of practical gameplay considerations.

Please make it available later at least.

It is balanced for race leagues. Simply getting early FP+FB+LMP with so much spell passives would make it too easy for witches. Other leagues don't care since it's such an easy to obtain gem. This also makes more difference between classes, people make choice whether they play witch for her gems and passives or shadow for his gems and passives.

Maybe this gem could be rewarded at higher difficulties instead of chance to flee. At this point most people would have it anyway, but it would allow for better build of completely solo play.
