Curios about culling strike?

so here i was reading the forums about IIR/IIQ and someone said that in a group all you need is 1 MF toon with culling strike so here is my question.

How dose culling strike interact with other dmg sources than the one gem its liked to? for eks i run a high MF sporker with culling and my friend runs a mara ground slam build if i spark someone and debuff them with culling and my friend comes along and one shots mobs after i had debuffed them with culling do i still get the kill for the add so my IIR/IIQ counts

Culling isn't a debuff, it checks on hit.

Looks like i had the wrong understanding on how the skill works. I thought it worked similar to infernal blow and that even if someone else hit shorty after it would still take effect.

You might have con-fused it with Siphon, you get a power charge if enemy is killed by the skill or a short timeframe after.
