Path of Exile works in Windows 8

In-case anyone was curious :)

PoE works fine in what is said to be the RTM/Retail release of Windows 8, build 9200 (I tested on Windows 8 Enterprise x64). No issues.

Also worked fine in Consumer Preview too I believe.

That is good to know, does not mean issues may arise later with different builds but I'm sure it will get worked on quickly.

Do not get windows 8.....You are doing humanity a dis-service buying that crap.

That assume the "Windows Store" doesn't lock it down.

It has performance benefits such as hybrid boot for speedy reboots and shutdown, and WDDM 1.2 which offers performance gains in games and other DirectX things.

And, there is some promotion where you can get Win8 for $40, but I don't know the exact conditions.

Overall, I don't care much for looks, but if you can get past the Windows 8 UI (aka Metro) and the flat looking desktop skin that replaces Aero Glass, it's not too bad at all.

Since PoE is obviously a desktop program and won't be offered through the Windows Store, I don't think you need to be too worried.

I think the multi-monitor support, new task manager, new right click power user menu in the bottom left, and file history alone are probably worth the $40. Not to mention storage spaces if you need that kind of thing and the general performance improvements.
