Proper way to Uninstall?
Is there a tool to uninstall the game to try a fresh install to fix issues? I used my windows control panel and found Poe.exe and uninstalled it but the uninstall window was open for less than a second and it was uninstalled. It can't possibly uninstall that fast can it?
Could it be my new SDD that im not used to? Or did I just uninstall a portion of poe and not the whole thing? DISCLAIMER! Double check your installation directory to see if it is still there (C:\Program Files\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile) and also check your settings directory to see if it is still there (C:\Users\YourUser\My Games\Path of Exile).
Deleting both of those should finish up and make a "clean" install (other than DirectX) |

Please help me. I can't install the game.
It says: "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue" How can i reinstall it? Deleted the files in My Documents/My Games where it had a few. All it remains is the shortcut in Add/Remove and when i try to use it, it asks me for the installation file. |

Have a look at C:\Program Files\ if there is a folder "Grinding Gear Games" with a folder Path of Exile in it. If it is, delete this too, then it should work.

" Does it still show up in the "Add/Remove Programs" list (or wherever the uninstall location is in Windows these days)? If so, you might need to use a 3rd party application to remove the installer entry (like CCleaner or others). At that point, you can just remove the Grinding Gear Games folder and it's "gone". Keep in mind for the future that you shouldn't post in old threads that belong to other people. You should use those threads (like this one) as a reference to troubleshoot, but you should make support requests in new threads for help. Threads are like support tickets and we like to keep them clean and related to the original post/poster. Once their issue is resolved, we like to have people create their own "support tickets" and leave these resolved threads dead. Thanks! |
