Eldritch Battery and Chaos Resist Question

Hey guys,

Just specced myself into the eldritch battery passive and i was wondering whether or not chaos nodes/resist gear will benefit me in any way since I have no energy shield, or am i free to respec the nodes without any side effects?

wha? if you want to take less damage from chaos, then keep them. if not then respec.. its the exact same as if you had life and es

Chaos damage bypasses energy shield, so it will have the same effect on you as before ... Resist gear and nodes will help if you're having serious issues with chaos damage

You'll find that chaos damage hurts a lot with EB unless you do something to bolster your chaos res.

Try to get above the 0% mark in merc and ultimately shoot for at least 30%.

Chaos damage hurts exactly the same with EB as without.

Yeah, obviously.

I figured the clear premise of making this thread was the notion that chaos damage could basically be ignored with the most threatening aspect of the damage type (penetrating ES) being out of the equation. When in fact, it becomes very threatening when you ignore chaos res entirely.

I'm suggesting he get some chaos res but not to worry about maxing it like you need to with elemental res.

Did I really have to spell that out? Christ.
