What do you expect from Duelist Class & Swords?

I'm hoping to see another melee class added in 0.5, and GGG officially debuts Duelist Class along with Swords. I hope this class has agile defenses (parrying/counterattacking), rend skills that apply bleeds, rapiers for critical strikes, greatswords for AOE, and ascendancies like Slayer and Bard (song skills).

With that said, what do you expect from this class and weapon type?

Hoping for some elemental skills so I can make something work on Sorceress.

Excited for duelist, i’m expecting high attack speed,
Good damage for bossing like warrior but nimbler.
With some cleave skills, a dash that damages would be cool.

I'm expecting people to roll their eyes when the ascendancy points are stuff like "Bonuses from Dexterity and Strength are Doubled, and so are equipment requirements" and then after complaining for 2 weeks about how bad GGG is at design because they can't mentally deal with acknowledging explicit opportunity costs, a super powerful build arises out of it that becomes meta and people love to play and people forget about it.

a decent bleed focused class would be awesomem possibly with some cool power spec into dual wield without penalties.
Some sort of passive rage/fury generation and benefits from dual wielding both axes and swords while sacrificing defences :D

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ELEMENTAL DAMAGE PLEASE!!!

Can be evrything at this point, just need to spec into intelligence and use caster weapons, we already saw a titan being an excellent spellcaster so why not.
But i would like it to be more focused in physical damage with fast paced combo mechanics with ascendancies like gladiator or assassin (assassin probably will belong to the shadow class tho :D)

You just described the spear my friend.

I wonder if they are going to add double strike. That could be really good on Huntress or Warrior too.

Double strike on a wolf would be pretty OP
