You cannot equip this item. It's stats will be ignored.

My boots are showing this error message. Can equip and unequip but still same message after several reboots. Please assist.

If you have some of the special sockets you can only have 1 of each anymore since 0.4.
That could be the reason of the message.
You have to change the sockets to have only 1 of the special ones.

Other reason could be your stats but you shouldnt be able to equip them than.

I'm not sure if there are negative stat items in POE2 but some uniques in poe1 had them and you could equip them then the negative is calculated and they could break things

In PoE2 you just cant equip something you dont meet the requirement, your character will say they cannot and it's red on your character slot when you try. Even for uniques.

If you loose the requirement after equiping the item it will stay but be red with a text "you cannot equip this item it's stat will be ignored". If you remove it you cant equip it anymore unless meeting the requirement again.

Now there might something weird somewhere i'm not aware off, wouldnt surprise me in this game =)

But that's why if OP say they can equip them i believe it must be the runes/sockets, lots of people had that problem after 0.4.
