Using minions from the start feels... not good!

I have tried to use minions from the start, and I have to say, it feels very weak compared to other ways to start the game.

To give you an idea, I was at the last boss of Act One. I used every minion I could to the fullest. I had +1 to minion level on my headgear and scepter, along with increased damage to allies, and it still just felt slow. They don’t do much damage.

I also personally don’t like how command skills feel to use. The skeleton archers with their gas arrow I just don’t think it’s very cool, to be honest. And the arsonists… I HATE the red dots on minions that I can detonate. It just adds even more clutter to the screen. The skeleton frost mages and the armour they add to minions create even more visual clutter. The screen is just filled with too much stuff.

Perhaps command skills could be made cooler and more interesting, with fewer effects and less clutter. Maybe add more minion skills, like Unearth a basic ability like that but with different themes. Also, give us a way to start with minions and feel strong from the beginning. All the build guides I see just say, “Go Contagion or something first, then switch to a minion build,” because minions aren’t very strong in the early game and that makes me sad. :(
