You start the league and the temple is awesome. The more you play the temple, the more you dread playing the temple. Wow is it long. Quite complicated, not intuitive. It shouldn't be called the temple, it should be called 'Doors of the Vaal'. Cause its just all about those doors, no treble. Fucking annoying. Walk through a door, whoops, bum rushed, stuck, dead. You disintegrate or you die, I'm not playing this game to not play this game. Like when you get the chaos shrine and everything instapopmelts. I think, some people actually play the game like this- its insta-boring-no-challenge-dumb. Feels like a cheat code. Back to the temple of doors. When you start, room rewards are great! As you scale, the temple doesn't, so all the rewards become trash. With the exception of some rare room stuff that is extremely difficult to actually get. Most of the time, rooms don't even have rewards. If they do, its an orb of alchemy, ooo. A lesser something, oooo. Meanwhile I don't have any of those armor upgrading things- at least I rarely ever change a piece of gear though. The main thing is that the temple just becomes a scaling mess of effectiveness and drawing things through doors. The only thing I actually do get a lot of in the temple is experience. Killing 10k billion things and then making one mistake and losing experience from killing 30k billion things, is the fucking worst. The worst. I love being penalized in the past for mistakes I didn't make, now. Phenomenal game, but the endgame is kinda super shit. While I'm bitching, uniques suck. I'm confused about the concepts of uniques. I feel like I'm getting something I should've gotten at level 4, and then it MAY have been nifty- cause I had nothing else. Going to all this work to get 10k evasion on a piece of gear, then trying to use one with 13 and a one liner on it that MIGHT be ok if you completely build around it- is fooking troll mate. Just kiss your audience goodbye, its 2026, gotta do better, or let the ai do better for you. Oh, and don't forget that when a room door shuts and then you die in the room... now you can't attack through the door except with aoe; and all the mobs have their face pressed up against the invisible door, trying to kill you. So if you don't have aoe, you're just kinda effed. Then the fucking portaling in and out issue, the disenchanting items issue, the salvaging items issue, the insane checkpoint uselessness(which blows my fucking mind- they are useless, everywhere... for like a year now, WTF WTF WTF)- and this is just basic quality of life shit. Insane. Last straw, no more fucking temples. Never again. Its completely different than the rest of the game. Its getting as bad as fucking sukhemas- I will not play that shit. I thought this was cool to start, and it turned into cancer. Fuuuck the temple of doors. I'm sitting here like, dude I do not want to do this shit- and looked at my progress, 8/24. No fucking way man. No fucking way, fuck off. All it does is frustrate me. Its actually worse than some of the abyss rares, I thought it was impossible. Meanwhile I'm fucking typing instead of having fun and my game is crashed, spinning gears. Game is crashing and the game studio is showcasing their logo- you can't be serious man. They pull off crazy complicated shit all over, yet the quality of life of this game is seriously fucking shit. Its not 1990 anymore. All you have to do is check the bagspace. Its one of the first things I did, oh ok, a whole bunch of squares, cool. Then you pick up your first item and its 3x3. My eyes got wide like, da fuck? I can pick up like 6 things? Its so gross. Tell you what, I'll give you a bazillion dollar idea. Make a pet that handles selling/salvage/disenchant, and is a stash- little dude follows you everywhere. Tons of skin variants, its limitless. Charge for the base, then skins seperately, everyone will buy it- probly even tons of skins. Then, fix this shit. Just hoping Temple doesn't go core. That way they can work on it offline for a few seasons.

I love the free crafting benches early game, but oh boy the first few temple runs in Act 1 sure set me up with faulty expectations for how often to expect those, they're basically gone by Act 3. Which, sure, they have to fall off at some point and by endgame they're essentially useless, but they're a good boost during Campaign for low-end gear you wouldn't otherwise toss exalts at.
I'd really like to be able to disenchant/salvage stuff without leaving the temple. As for uniques... well, they're either good for leveling (so you use them on a new character), or their unique effect is something you specifically have to build around and/or find a way to compensate for the downsides. They can be interesting or fun, but a lot of them are glorified chance shard fodder. "Some call him a genius. Others, a monster. The truth is usually somewhere in between.
Me? I say power like his comes with a cost... and it's never the one wieldin' it who pays." - Delwyn, re: Doryani |
