Unable to start Fate of Vaal league

I put a bug report in chat in game. 354634545
I have the newest patch. Deleted game and reinstalled. I tried to start a new character for the league but the option for what league I want to be in doesn't appear. Not even for hardcore or ssf. Thank you.

I gather from your other thread that you are playing on PS5 (which sadly I don't have experience with, but I wanted to ask some questions in case it helps someone else identify your issue). I don't mean to be pedantic with these questions.

It sounds like you are able to log in to your account for POE2 early access and even log into one of your other characters. Is this correct? I shall assume that you have access to the EA on PS5 and that this isn't related to previously playing during a free weekend and no longer having access, or not having obtained your PS5 key.

Which regional server are you connecting to? Have you tried changing this main server region on the login screen to see if it makes any difference? A number of users were having server connectivity issues this past month (e.g., endless loading screens), including many within Australia -- it sounded like this may have been a routing issue that didn't affect all users in the region.

For the sake of asking, I would confirm that you are launching POE2 (early access) to play the Fate of the Vaal league and not the first Path of Exile game: a new event just started in POE1 (if you see leagues for Phrecia 2.0 or Keepers, you are playing POE1).

It may help to clarify the steps you have been able to follow in game and what happens in more detail. At which point(s) are the challenge league options not available?

On the PC client, there are three steps in the character creation process that each allow for redundantly selecting the league intended for the character:

i) On the character selection screen, you may optionally select a league to filter the list of your existing characters and would press the CREATE button to start the process. It doesn't matter which league you have selected on this screen other than to default the league selection in the following steps. Seeing this step may depend upon having existing characters.

ii) Next, a league selection screen appears with two large flags, representing Standard (parent trade) and Fate of the Vaal (trade challenge leagues). Each flag has options (checkboxes) to select from Hardcore and SSF league options. The flag changes colour to suit the options selected. The choice of Standard of Fate of the Vaal is indicated with yellow bars to the side of the applicable flag (this can sometimes be easy to miss).

Pressing CONTINUE moves forward to the next step.
You can still change your league selection after this step.

In POE1, there can be multiple flags that for some users have scrolled off the right side of the screen. They have still been accessible by scrolling to the right.

iii) The gallows character creation scene is unveiled, allowing you to select your class and a name for your character. There is another drop-down list on this screen allowing you to again change your selected league (or there is on the PC client). This list of league options only appears after selecting your character class and pressing CONTINUE. You should see options for all available leagues here (parent, Fate of the Vaal, Hardcore, and SSF leagues).

A few notes about the CREATE button:

- On the PC client, there is a long-standing display bug that disables this button when any SSF league is selected, regardless of whether or not you have free character slots. You can workaround this by starting the creation process from any other league and later choosing SSF.

- While you have many available character slots (24), if they have all been used the CREATE button will remain disabled for all leagues and display a message that you have no free character slots.

- As microtransactions are not shared between PS5 and other platforms, if you had purchased additional character slots on another platform they may not be available on your PS5 if your current roster of characters fill up the slots you have access to on PS5.
