Widow Reign Functionality

Widow Reign is an interesting chestpiece in the game that says:

Life that would be lost by taking damage is instead reserved until you take no damage to life for 3 seconds.

I have always considered this chestpiece a trap to use. And so far I believe that I am right and it still is a trap.

After a bit of testing I have noticed that when you start reserving damage, obviously it basically takes away your max hp. Your health bar turns from red to basically what the mana bar looks like when you have Blood Magic in your passive tree. Aka a gray bar. Now if your health bar becomes FULLY gray, you die.

So too much damage you die regardless of the 3 second timer when getting hit. But what I have noticed is that while your life is "reserved" like this you cannot heal that life in any way. That reservation does not change until you don't take damage for 3 second. In which case you then take all of the reserved damage. So basically you can consider this reservation as an extremely garbage version of the Acolyte of Chayulas Darkness combined with Volatility.

So I guess if a dev happens to read this I wanna ask what the thought process of this chestpiece was all about? Or maybe ask if it was supposed to be designed to hard lock life as such. Like would it be too much to ask for the chestpiece to allow regen, recoup, leach, flasks, etc. to slowly mitigate the reservation? Like if you can essentially "refund" the reservation by filling it back up BEFORE the 3 seconds are up. Therefore not taking the damage buildup or taking a reduced amount due to healing yourself back up within that 3 second window.
